Friday 19 March 2010 at 09:40
George Burley has been well backed this morning in the Next Bristol City Manager Betting Odds but he is still behind favourite Alan Curbishley and also one other manager in the pecking order.
Curbs Still The Favourite But Look Out For O’Driscoll And Burley
On Thursday Alan Curbishley was punted from 12/1 with VC Bet all the way down to 6/4 but after support for another couple of managers he has been lengthened to 2/1 , but still remains the favourite. One of those managers supported was Doncaster boss Sean O’Driscoll who is a highly sought after manager and he is down to 5/2 with VC Bet, ready to challenge Curbs for favouritism. Former Scotland manager George Burley has been well backed this morning too, he was 12/1 on Thursday but is currently 5/1 with VC Bet, having already been shortened from 7/1 today after steady support.
Two Former England Managers Linked With Ashton Gate
Gareth Southgate was the very early favourite and he obviously has made the shortlist as he is 13/2 with VC Bet, ahead of another early favourite Paul Tisdale who is 7/1 with VC Bet. Steve Coppell and Steve McClaren were two early movers and Coppell has remained popular, he is now 8/1 with VC Bet but McClaren has been drifting and is now as big as 14/1 with VC Bet. Another former England manager who could be interested in the Bristol City job could be Glenn Hoddle, he is rated at 20/1 with VC Bet to take over at Ashton Gate.
