Thursday 18 March 2010 at 16:01
Alan Curbishley could be about to return to football management after he was supported heavily in the Next Bristol City Manager Betting Odds on Thursday.
Alan Curbishley Well Backed And Now Joint Favourite With Sean O’Driscoll
At the beginning of the day when it was announced that Gary Johnson was leaving by mutual consent Curbs was available at 12/1 with VC Bet but he was soon cut to 8/1 and 6/1 before VC Bet settled on his current price of 4/1. He has been out of work for some time but the recent settlement in his legal action against West Ham means he can now get back into management and it seems he could choose Bristol City. He is not the clear favourite though, also on 4/1 with VC Bet is Sean O’Driscoll. The Doncaster Rovers manager was strongly linked with the Burnley job but missed out on that and could get the Bristol city job instead.
Steve Coppell And Steve McClaren Both Supported For Bristol City Job
Former favourite Gareth Southgate has now drifted out but only slightly, he is 5/1 with VC Bet whilst other drifters include Paul Tisdale who is out to 5/1 with VC Bet and Phil Brown who is now 8/1 with VC Bet. Former Reading boss Steve Coppell has been supported today and he is down to 8/1 with VC Bet (from 10/1) and Steve McClaren has also been backed to return to England, he is 12/1 with VC Bet (from 20/1).
