Real Madrid look to be great value to win this years Champions League especially with there two high profile signings in Kaka and Christiano Ronaldo added to a squad that would off been been there or there abouts without them.. Surely the two just further enhance that claim! They are said to be on the look out for a top class defender which for me will be the last ingredient needed for success at all levels this season.. At 5/1 in my opinion there are only 2 teams too worry about this season and they are Barcelona and Liverpool.. Man Utd will need a season for there new squad players too settle in and adjust.. One thing ive noticed is that Real Madrid in the past have been successful at buying trophies with top class Galacticos who fit right in immediately however Ferguson likes to build things up slowly and that could take a season or two, Man Utd will more than likely sneak the Premier League title again but in your Europe it will prove a different proposition entirely.. Chelsea for me wont be in either the top 2 in the Premiership or the final of the Champions League.. Anything other than a place in the final will be considered a failure this season for a team that once again this summer trashed all transfer fee records that were before them..
Any explanation would not do justice to making this bet - Im a Chelski boy first and foremost, after that I like to see the the trophy stay over here, but Real surely are the ones to beat.
Now I know AC MILAN have drawn Man Utd but with the way United are playing I quite fancy Milan to progress.
Milan are no longer world beaters but they are still certainly capable of progressing in this competition and beating anyone on their day.
25/1 looks a massive price in this market as what ive said for Mialn goes for many other, anyone can beat anyone.
With either Chelsea or Inter out, Man Utd out if Milan progress, Real Madrid and Arsenal having very tough ties then come next round 25/1 will be now where to be seen in my opinion so Im taking this from a value angle and will probably trade the winners market by backign UTD as well to cover my bet and then trade out for profit.
Although they have a new manager, Ancelotti seems to be working well with Chelsea and I think their strength will be that they havent changed their squad around much this summer.
Their group looks favourable and I think they have enough Champions Leahue experience to go very close.
Chelsea have a decent draw for the group stages and after a solid opening to the Premiership it looks like they should pass through without too much incident and certainly look the strongest of the British quartet. The squad has stayed more or less intact over the summer and look a happy bunch playing under new manager Ancelotti who brings with him great European credentials which is precisely why Abramovich signed him as Champions League glory is the prime objective this season after being so close in recent years. Barca and Real Madrid both look full of goals with their impressive squads but this is where the tactical knowledge of a manager plays a big role as the team that plays the most attractive football rarely comes out on top.
