Been a member here now over 3 years and this site has helped improved my betting 100-fold since I joined. When I first signed up I was an old school gambler who just used the regular bookmakers and didn't know anything about Betfair or laying. These days 99% of my bets are placed on Betfair and over 90% of those are lays. I don't put up many lays on the tipster comp because firstly the majority of my lays are place ones and secondly I really only look at the tipster comp as a bit of fun so try to find some decent priced good value winners on here. While I treat the tipster comp as a bit of fun the majority of bets that I blog and all of the tips I post on the forum I do back with real money. Like I said earlier the majority of my income comes from lays but while the liability won't be as big with things I back (most of the time) I do still risk decent stakes on them.

On top of improving my betting I have to say my form reading has improved since I was here aswell. Getting different angles on the sport from several different members over the years and taking bits and pieces from them to suit my own style has improved my strike rate and profit by a lot. A big thanks has to go to former member Tankyman aswell who I learned a lot from.


In terms of what sports I bet on? - The number one love by a long way is National Hunt racing. I could go on for hours why I love it but there's probably not enough room on here, lol. Apart from NH racing I do bet on the flat and AW aswell plus I know a fair amount on football and NBA too so consider all these sports my strongest areas. I know a bit about Tennis, Rugby Union, Snooker, Golf, GAA and Formula 1 aswell so tend to bet a bit on those sports too both on here and with the real stuff.


Posted this in another section of the blog profile too but think it's worth mentioning here again so more people see it. When asked what advice I would give to other punters - Study form thoroughly and don't just bet blindly on favourites, never pay for tips - do your own work or get some advice on OLBG for free, don't take people's "info" as gospel - at the end of the day it's only someone's opinion that the horse will run well and a lot of the time it is made up for various reasons, only bet what you can afford to lose, never chase losses, take note of all your bets - whether successful or not, be selective in your betting and only bet when you think the odds represent good value, get a Betfair account now and remain disciplined as much as you can - if you can remain disciplined in your betting then that is half the battle on the road to success!!!
