3:20 Sandown
(05/07 15:20) 3:20 Sandown : Mount Nelson Win nap @ 4.50 Horse Racing |
Its hard to really get away from Aiden OBrien and Mount Nelson here in what is a weak renewal of the eclipse, Campanologist was fortunate to gain his success last time, when given a canny ride against his own generation, and just prevailing, and will now find this tougher, Literato needs the heavens to open, Maraahel, Rob Roy & Stotsfold have all looked short of this level, leaving it down to 4 runners in my opinion. Multidimentional is interesting but he does decieve and yard have much more likely winner in stable mate Pheonix Tower the chosen mount of Ted Durcan, who was second to Duke of Marmalade when pipping Pipedreamer at Ascot, but it would be tough to call on that evidence and Gosdens Cambridgeshire winner could reverse that form, but Mount Nelson really caught the eye when 5th to Haradasun, and was once the best rated juvenile as a two year old, they have been patient with the son of Rock of Gibraltor and it could all pay off today. OBrien knows what is required to get the better of the next three in the market, and the 4/1 available looks the value of the race. |

2:10 Sandown
(05/07 14:10) 2:10 Sandown : Ancien Regime Win @ 5.00 Horse Racing |
The three year old division of sprinters in the UK at present is the strongest for a fair while with the likesof Fleeting Spirit, Kingsgate Native, Look Busy & Captain Gerrard setting the sights for others, but Ancien Regime is perhaps another from the brigade who could cause an upset, he was unlucky not to have secured a second valuable handicap last time for connections, and despite dropping to the minimum today holds every chance. He is full of speed and that is likely the key to his true ptential today. Dettori takes the ride, and ground more than ideal in what is not the strongest of Group 3 sprints. Hoh Mike is going to be popular and could give the selection most to think about especially as he won this last year and is unbeaten at the track. |

4:00 Newcastle
(26/06 16:00) 4:00 Newcastle : Bollin Felix Win nb @ 4.00 Horse Racing |
Nero West is likely to be populaqr given his style of running but this will take a career best and not guaranteed to get early and significant lead, this looks easier for BOLLIN FELIX who should be expected to win this off a fair mark, and progress towards better races. |

2:40 Great Leighs
(26/06 14:40) 2:40 Great Leighs : Ultimate Quest Win nap @ 4.00 Horse Racing |
Sir Mark Prescott is in amazing form at6 present and brings yet another improver to the table here, Ultimate Quest is bred to excel at this sort of trip, being by Rainbow Quest out of a Sadlers Wells mare, and should be able to take advantage off this very low mark upped significantly in trip now. |

3:15 Beverley
(24/06 15:15) 3:15 Beverley : The Tatling EW nb @ 11.00 Horse Racing |
THE TATLING is taken to win this on his first start this term for trainer Jim Bradley, off a mark 10lb lower than when starting his campaign last term, he proved he could still mix it with the best last term with great runs in both The Nunthorpe and The Kings Stand, won by Australias Miss Andretti and recent Jubilee winner Kingsgate Native respectfully. He is now 9lb lower than when scoring in May 2007 at Musselburgh off a mark of 99, and is 8lb lower than when chasing home the likes of Indian Trail finishing just 2 1/2 lengths back. He has never been phased by running fresh going well on each of his campaigns, and with ground to suit, from a mark he has not been as low at since 2002, he could well be able to take advantage. There is no need in pretending there is more improvement to come from him at the ripe old age of 11, and he does have to contend with one or two younger legged opposition, but his credentials are there for all to see. Yard not in the greatest possible form, but one or two have shown how well handicapped the yards runners are. |

4:30 Brighton
(24/06 16:30) 4:30 Brighton : Star Strider Win @ 11.00 Horse Racing |
This could be all about Choreography & Tinas Best two recent winners, but both have to show that those wins have not meritted the handicappers attention, the former 7lb higher than last win, and the latter under a mandatory 6lb penalty. That makes things tough, the formers mark now over what has been achieved in the past and the latter in a tougher race against her elders, for though she won last time it is open to argument what she actually beat. The two to look at are Landucci and Star Strider...
Landucci is still on the same mark as when having similar conditions in handicaps last, and has only been succesfull on the all weather in a claimer beating Dickie La Davoir, and has not scored since 2005, he does demand respect returning to this track again, but it has failed to work the oracle on 5 occasions since his last win here, and faces a potential improver in START SRIDER, for Gay Kelleway under Jim Crowley. The selection took a fair while to shake the maiden tag, finally disposing of it in January 2008 on the all weather. Down to a mark of 63, is potentially well enough treated going back over this trip, in which excuses came the last twice tried and is well worth another chance this time round, blinkers are tried and could show much better here. Full brother needed all of the 7f at least to see at best on firmer ground and should give a good account in what is not the best race. |

9:00 Newbury
(24/06 21:00) 9:00 Newbury : Dont Tell Sue EW @ 17.00 Horse Racing |
David Arbuthnot trained DONT TELL SUE comes into this after a 97 day break, and though not the obvious of profiles doe make some appeal at a large price, the 5yo gelding by Bold Edge runs off a mark of 67, which is 16lb lower than the begining of last term, and when getting conditions to suit, a winner off 71 & 77 in 2006, he now appears very well treated and made an encouraging start to his campaign in February on the all weather. A winner on debut at Newbury in 2005 for Barry Hills, he left the stable in 2006, and then joined his current stable this term. Having shown signs and now returned to rurf off this mark, Alan Munro now takes over in the plate, and that is encouraging. Yard are doing well at present with their runners, and returns at a realistic level for the yard. |

5:00 Brighton
(24/06 17:00) 5:00 Brighton : Racing Stripes Win nap @ 6.50 Horse Racing |
RACING STRIPES is very much one to side with here on the evidence of his last run, but this is another realistic chance to get head in front, he is well enough treated to take a hand here, down to a mark of 45, and returned to turf for the second time in over a year and 27lb lower than when behind Mambo Spirit at Yarmouth, un-disgraced in two events in January, he was never one to have maximum faith in at Southwell. The selection is well treated, will enjoy the trip, will enjoy the ground and could pose the others a few problems here. He was very unlucky last time when mullered by the eventual winner, before rallying to good affect, but his chance had been cost. He runs in the weights this time, and given a clear route he will be staying on again to good affect. |

Spain V Italy
(22/06 19:45) Spain v Italy : Antonio Cassano Win @ 11.00 Euro 2008 Matches |
Crazy head himself, no matter how much he is far from a straightforward player, he is talented and when he is allowed to show that he can devastate, I think he will be out to prove himself here, and prove he can take to the stage. |

Spain V Italy
(22/06 19:45) Spain v Italy : Italy #2-0 Win @ 17.00 Euro 2008 Matches |
This is all about how well the defensive Italians can defend, the French result was a confidence booster, and I think they will aim to shut the game off early, frustrate the Spaniards catch them, then take there chances, 2-0 seems the obvious scoreline for me. |
