Bosnia Can Take At Least A Point From Turkey
(11/10 19:00) Turkey v Bosnia Herzegovina : Draw or Bosnia-Herzegovina Win @ 2.50 World Cup Qualifiers |
Turkey are without Nihat,Tuncay and Semih, and struggled in their last game against Belgium. Bosnia are improving, only losing 1-0 to Spain before crushing Estonia 7-0, so 2.5 for a draw or win looks great value. |

Bosnia Can Make It Hard For Turkey
(11/10 19:00) Turkey v Bosnia Herzegovina : Bosnia-Herzegovina 1 Win @ 1.93 World Cup Qualifiers |
Turkey are without Nihat,Tuncay and Semih, and struggled in their last game against Belgium. Bosnia are improving, only losing 1-0 to Spain before crushing Estonia 7-0, so at just under even money +1, looks good value. Stake returned with a one goal loss too, so well worth a punt. |

Washington Great Value To Win By A Couple
(11/10 00:35) WAS Capitals @ ATL Thrashers : WAS Capitals -1.5 Win @ 3.15 NHL |
Although its early season and unpredictable, Washington have to be fancied here.
I have high expectations for them this year, they look a very strong team. They went 4-2-2 against the Thrashers last year, and will be looking to get off to a great start. The Washington team is extremely strong throughout and should have far too much for Atlanta.
Washington -1.5 @ 3.15 looks fantastic value to me. |

Germany Too Good For Russia
(11/10 19:45) Germany v Russia : Germany Win @ 1.80 World Cup Qualifiers |
Germany look to be too strong for a Russia side that dont travel well. Remember how easily England beat Russia at home? Germany should have enough about them to do the same. After smashing 6 past Liechenstein, they went to Finland and came away with a 3-3 draw. Thats 9 goals in 2 games, and Russias only game was a laboured 2-1 win over Wales. I would expect a much tighter game if this was in Russia, but its not, and Germany can win by a couple here. |

Austria To East Past The Faroes
(11/10 16:00) Faroe Islands v Austria : Austria -1.5 Win @ 1.77 World Cup Qualifiers |
Austria are not a bad side, Ivanschitz will likely be their main danger in this one, but even though theyre away from home, theyre facing the Faroe Islands, most half decent teams would win by a couple of goals against them so 1.77 for -1.5 goals seems a decent bet. |

London Grand Prix - Saturday Bets Plus An Early Bet For Monday
Snooker 08/09 |
Just the 2 matches on Saturday to get the tournament rolling, but both are intriguing matches.
John Higgins (1.36) vs Anthony Hamilton (3.65)
Higgins has had an average start to the season, and in Shanghai last week he edged out Tom Ford 5-4 before losing 5-3 to an inform Ryan Day. Hamilton beat Yi Lan 5-1 before losing 5-2 to Marco Fu in the same event. Higgins has shown enough in the Premier League to suggest he can win here. Hamilton will likely put up a fight, but I can't see past Higgins @ 1.36
Joe Perry (1.69) vs Barry Hawkins (2.38)
Perry has looked in good form this season, playing well in the Premier League and was doing well in Shanghai until he came up against OSullivan (who Perry previously had beaten in the league). Hawkins lost 5-3 to a not at his best Maguire in Shanghai, and Perry is fancied to win here @ 1.69
The early bet for Monday I mentioned is Peter Ebdon @ 1.49 to beat Simon Bedford.
Now Ebdon has had his problems of late, especially with an investigation into one of his matches, but the odds of 1.44 to beat Simon Bedford are surely way off the mark, and I cant see this price staying around long so will take it now before it goes. He went down 5-3 to Bingham in Shanghai, but showed enough to suggest he should win this. Odds are wrong, Ebdon is value. |

London Grand Prix Preview
Snooker 08/09 |
Following quickly in the footsteps of last week’s Shanghai Masters, comes the Royal London Watches Grand Prix.
I’ve been reluctant to get involved in the outright markets so far this season as there has been little consistency from the top players. I broke the trend by backing Mark Selby last week, and he ended up blowing a 4-1 semi final lead to eventual winner Ricky Walden.
Selby appeals again here, in his current form he will be the man to beat, and the current dangers in his half (Murphy, Maguire, Higgins, Fu) are all below par. Of course, they’re going to hit form sooner or later – they’re too good not to – but Selby looks the likely finalist from the bottom half of the draw. However, his current price of 7.40 is not that appealing. After his 1st round match, he’s likely to have to face, in order, Marco Fu, John Higgins, then anyone of Steven Maguire, Shaun Murphy or Ding Junhui, and that’s just to reach the final. Now although I’d fancy Selby to overcome them, the 7.40 just isn’t big enough for me.
In the top half, the inform pair of Shanghai winner Ricky Walden, and Ryan Day, face each other in the 1st round. Whoever wins that will likely then go on to be facing Joe Perry for a place in the semi final. Judd Trump has a bye to the 2nd round after Graeme Dott’s withdrawal, but he’s likely to face O’Sullivan in that match. Speaking of O’Sullivan, he may not have been at his best last week, but his 6-0 thrashing of Ding Junhui in the league in midweek will have lifted him, and he looks to have a free run to the semi final here.
If Walden can make the semi, could he beat Ronnie again to make the final? Current odds of 46.00 would tell you otherwise. I’m tempted to take those odds, as he’d be much shorter if he reached the QF which is highly possible. Although hes said hes focused and wants to win here too, Ive no idea how much celebrating he’s been doing since his win! But if he gets past Ryan Day, he has a great chance.
That really is the only value I can see in the outright market right now, and even so I’m still not taking it.
Saturday’s match bets up soon.

Higgins To Reassert His Authority
(11/10 12:00) John Higgins vs Anthony Hamilton : John Higgins to win 5 - 3 Win @ 5.00 Snooker |
Higgins has had an average start to the season, and in Shanghai last week he edged out Tom Ford 5-4 before losing 5-3 to an inform Ryan Day. Hamilton beat Yi Lan 5-1 before losing 5-2 to Marco Fu in the same event. Higgins has shown enough in the Premier League to suggest hell win here, but like the Perry/Hawkins match, Im split between the 5-2 and 5-3 scorelines.
The law of averages says if I take 5-3 on both, then I must get one right? But with Higgins not quite firing on all cylinders yet, I can see Hamilton getting a couple of frames, so 5-3 is the pick. |

| Betking Blogging Profile |
|

Ive been using OLBG money as a bit of fun really, but starting August 2007 I'm taking it a bit more seriously and trying to avoid the urge to place bets for no reason.
If you want huge price winners, then this blog really isnt for you. My aim is slow and steady profit, rather than trying to pull 20/1 shots out of a hat. However that doesnt mean you wont see 5/1 winners on here ;)
