Happy With Brian E/Way
(06/07 12:00) AT&T National : Brian Gay EW @ 81.00 Golf |
Am opposing Furyk and Mahan this week and going with three e/w choices being Brian Gay, Lucas Glover and Rocco Mediate. Gay is up and down but did finish with a 65 at the Buick Open last week and at 80s is worth a shout, Glover T19 at the Travellers and T7 at Buick Open latest so in form and worth a pop and we all know what Mediate can do now and will stick with him after disappointing slightly last week.
I have also put pennies on Notah Begay, as mentioned two weeks ago he was over his back problems and as a four time Tour winner is too high at 1000s and if he can shoot a first round like he did in the Travellers he may surprise. Shigeki Maruyama joint course record holder with Mahan could also go well. |

Karlsson Hot, Cold, Hot
(06/07 12:00) The European Open : Robert Karlsson EW @ 17.00 Golf |
Robert Karlsson supposedly had a bad cold last week hence not at his best (still finished T13) but had been in superb form before the Open de France Alstom with six Top 10 finishes in a row. He is a short price at 16s but I cannot desert him at present and am surprised he is not starting as favourite.
Schwartzel has finished in top 10 the last twice, T6 at BMW Intenational Open and T7 at Open de France Alstom latest so is in good form and is an E/W alternative along with Maarten Lafebar and Rafa Echenique who have been flirting with the leaderboard lately.

The Form Choice
(29/06 12:00) Buick Open : Kenny Perry EW @ 13.00 Golf |
Past winners nearly always fare well and this week should be no exception for 2001 Buick Open Champion Kenny Perry. I cant see past Perry whose recent form on PGA Tour has been consistently high with 3 top 10 finishes in last 5 events that includes a win at Memorial Tournament and a 2nd at AT & T Classic. Am expecting plenty of birdies and top 5 finish if not the win. |

Former Winners Fare Well At Buick Open
(29/06 12:00) Buick Open : Rocco Mediate EW @ 56.00 Golf |
Past winners Mediate, Pernice Jr, Perry, Austin and Verplank should all fare well this week but I would be a layer of Furyk as although he has the best course form, his game has definitely been off since the Wachovia Championship, even missing the cut at Crowne Plaza. Backing wise I cant see past Perry whose form on PGA Tour has been like that of Karlsson on European Tour. Rocco Mediate too, played great golf to lose to Tiger in a play off at US Open and if his high standard of iron play continues, he could shoot plenty of birdies and is a good E/W shout. |

Earn A Few Bob Karlsson
(29/06 07:00) Open de France : Robert Karlsson EW @ 13.00 Golf |
Karlsson looks the likely winner and you cannot get away from his tremendous run of form being 3 3rds, a 2nd and T4 in US Open latest. Although he doesnt have great course form, his stats are most impressive bar driving accuracy and if this holds up and no splashes I expect him to run the field a merry dance with only Westwood being able to live with him. Am also looking for one of the home contingent trio of Delamontagne, Bourdy and Levet to hit top 5 spot too. |

Home Contingent Winner Like Last Week? Top 5 More Likely.
(29/06 07:00) Open de France : Francois Delamontagne EW @ 71.00 Golf |
The home contingent looks strong this year and they will want to emulate Jean Francois Remesys wins in 2004 and 2005. T4 in 2005 was Delamontagne and with 3 top 10 finishes in his last 3 European Tour events, I hope Geckos Fav can keep his good form going and is a worthy E/W punt. Bourdy, winner of the Estoril Open de Portugal and Levet who won the Open de Andalucia (ranked 40 and 36 in European Tour Order of Merit respectively) could both do well on home soil but I think Karlsson is the likely winner with his tremendous run of form at present of three 3rds, a 2nd and T4 latest at the US Open. |

Jang Has Course Form And Is Value Against Ochoa
(22/06 12:15) Wegmans LPGA : Jeong Jang EW @ 23.00 Golf |
1st in 2006 and T5 in 2007, Jang clearly likes it at Locust Hill Country Club. Ochoa although worthy favourite is too short for me and feel JJ should again get at least a top 5 placing in this event. Sorenstam in her final season is always a danger and Gustafson too at 66/1 could provide e/w value as long as she has recovered from losing lead in Ginn Tribute and the missed cut at McDonalds latest. |

The 2000 Winner Is Back After Disk Trouble
(22/06 12:00) Travelers Championship : Notah Begay EW @ 401.00 Golf |
I love an outsider / underdog and Begay is certainly that which is a shame for the 4 time winner on PGA Tour. A winner of this event in 2000 but back problems have plagued his career in recent years. Having missed cut in AT&T and Standford St Jude, his web site says he is back on track and feeling as strong as hes ever felt. That will do for me and at huge odds I am hoping he can resurrect his career at a course he plays well (T9 in 2006). |

Indian Last Week, Fancy Thai This Time Round
(22/06 06:00) BMW International Open : Thongchai Jaidee EW @ 81.00 Golf |
Thongchai Jaidee looks to be knocking on the door of late and his final round of 64 took him to T13 in Austria last week. A round of 65 at the Celtic Manor also shows what this chap is capable of and am going to side with him e/w this week as those at head of market are a bit too short for me. Hopefully I will be currying the green folded soon. |

Hes HOTto And Value E/w
(22/06 06:00) BMW International Open : Hennie Otto EW @ 81.00 Golf |
Ranked 18th in European Tour Order of Merit with a 1st, a 2nd and two T15s in his last six tournies, I am expecting Hennie Otto to again go well and is a value e/w bet imo.
Those anticipating a bold show from the home contingent, dont be surprised if it is Alex Cejka and not Langer / Kaymer that shows best. |
