There are lots of different versions of video poker such as

Jokers wild - has one or sometimes 2 jokers that are wild (i.e. you can use as any card you want).  This obviously gives you a better opportunity to get a good hand, but the payouts are adjusted accordingly.

Deuces Wild - as above but with 2s wild (i..e. 4 wild cards)

Aces & Faces - like Jacks or better but different payouts for 4 Aces and 4 of the same picture card (faces)

Tens or Better - like Jacks or better but there's a payout for a pair of 10s, but the higher hands payouts are reduced accordingly

Multi-Hand - there are multi-hand versions of most of the different variations. Multi-hand video poker works by giving you one initial hand on which you choose what you want to keep and discard.  It then plays out that hand multiple times with different changed cards.  So if your first hand is good - it gets replicated many times.  Can be a lot of fun.

There's quite a bit of strategy in video poker in terms of deciding what had to go for / what to keep and what to discard.  For example, remembering that a pair below 2 jacks is worthless what you do with the following Hand

K J 8 8 5

Would you

keep the 2 8s in the hope of getting a third 8 or maybe 2 pairs or better

keep the KJ in the hope of getting a pair of Jacks or better.

So the answer is to go with the low pair.  You see that strategy favours playing for a Royal Flush.  If you look at the payout table you'll see why.  You get 16x more for a royal flush than for the next best hand (4 of a kind).

For choice of games and multiplayer options Littlewoods Casino is hard to beat.  The only drawback is the odds which are 250/40/20 for the top 3 hands rather than 800/50/25.  This is actually more normal that the odds we quoted above which while available would not be the norm.  However the house edge with these payouts moves from about 0.5% to about 3%.
