LETS GO DANCING TO THE TOP WITHOUT THE X FACTOR
|
27/11/07
Each December the record industry and its artists compete for the Christmas number one single spot, having the UK Christmas number one is still regarded by the pop world as prestigious and leads to big sales and extensive media coverage.
This year the reality shows look like going head to head to become Xmas number 1 whilst established pop artists are out in the cold. Strictly Come Dancing takes on the winner of the X Factor. The X factor programme has produced the number 1 single in 2005 and 2006 and are odds on to do the same this festive season. The X factor winner is priced at 1/4 with William Hill.
The market that is of more interest is betting without X Factor and hear we can find some bigger prices. The aforementioned Strictly Come Dancing single is 2/1 with Skybet and we should back that now, it is bound to be on many peoples christmas present lists. Established pop girl band Sugerbabes are a best priced 3/1 with Bet 365 whilst last years number 1 artist Leona Lewis is 100/30 with Skybet.
There has been an orchestrated campaign supported by many to get Arab Strap star Malcolm Middleton to number 1 on the 25th and stop the X Factor hit machine. This campaign supported by the Indie Crowd on My Space and Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills has bookmakers running for a bit of cover, earlier available at 1000/1 it is now 12/1 with Bet 365 and is the only double price worth having a second look at.
Advised: Strictly Come Dancing- Lets Go Dancing @2/1 with Skybet on the market without X factor.
