 | OLBG Summer Get TogetherWhen: Saturday 16th June 2007 Where: Sandown Racecourse On 16th June 2007, around 40 members met at Sandown racecourse for OLBGs first major get together.
We enjoyed the private facilities of the Summer Marquee which was a great place to meet up, chat and enjoy the free bar! It was amazing to see members who had “known “ each other through the forum for years, finally meet face to face.
Moderators Jwoody, Dammo Qwirky, Onead, Roger Green, Krider2010, Zagreb and jeremiah catskill had travelled far and wide but no-one further than Global Gordon who flew in from Scotland!
A couple got off to a flyer with the 8/1 winner in the first but it was delfroty3 who won the champers for tipping up the other 8/1 winner Black Charmer, along with 3/1 and 6/4 winners. Dammo Qwirky won the Royal Ascot tickets in the prize draw.
Thanks to everyone who came along and made it a great day.

 | Greatwood Open Day Sponsored by OLBGWhen: Sunday 2nd September 2007 Where: Near Malborough Greatwood is a charity that rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes ex-racehorses. Unfortunately, following their retirement from racing, many racehorses end up in inexperienced hands. Horses often arrive at Greatwood in an extremely vulnerable state both mentally and physically.
On Sunday 2nd September, Greatwood open their doors so that you can meet the horses which they have in their care (horse racing fans will recognise many names including Deanos Beano). There will also be a parade of horses currently in training which will come from nearby yards. This likely to include many stars as at a previous open day Desert Orchid paraded. Its sure to be a great day out with refreshments and entertainment aplenty.
We are pleased to be able to help Greatwood by sponsoring their open day and would love as many OLBG members as possible to come along and help us to make the day a success.  | Doncaster St LegerWhen: Saturday 15th September 2007 Where: Doncaster Racecourse On Saturday 15th Tunny0 and jwoody from OLBG Poker Nights organised a trip to Doncaster for the St Leger.
The guys ventured cross country from Bournemouth to Scotland, finally arriving in Doncaster on the Friday night for few quiet drinks and game of snooker at the hotel.
Saturday morning saw jwoody, Tunny0 and Sir Alex heading off to the races, joined by Hollywood6, Acesmel (Mrs T) and The plug (Ill_tilt_you). Backing the right horses as always proved tricky, with both Hollywood and Tilt picking more donkeys than you see at the seaside.
Not all was lost as the guys managed to save some dignity in the St. Leger itself, with Woody correctly picking the forecast and acesjones having a nice bet on Lucarno. Don kept popping up with some tasty E/W selections and the odd goalscorer throughout the day.
After the exploits of the day it was back to the hotel and onto the Main Event, Poker. They guys stacked their chips and played into the early hours of the morning.
