As someone who is just looking to start out in the world of Online Poker (I believe that makes me a 'fish') and also someone who has enough problems already with AOL; does anyone know if the problem highlighted here is likely to happen on poker sites generally?

I'm not sure, but based on my experiences with AOL over the last 10 years I certainly would'nt discount it. As much as I hate to say it, I've had very few problems with Virgin Media...I feel dirty just saying that!
