Well after a break of over three months from online poker I decided to get back on the horse again last night.
Why? I hear you asking, after 10 hands and $100, I don't know.
For the first time this year, sat at home watching TV, I really fancied a online game. So I swallowed my pride and returned to the carnage that is online cash games.
I deposit just enough to have a small $.25/$.50 game with one top up if needed. If needed, PMSL, it took just 8 hands for the reload to be required.
Sitting on the button with 9h10h facing a $2 raise from a player who had raised 50% of the hands whilst l was seated, I decided to call. I had position, a good suited connector hand and a tight image after just 8 hands, lol. To my amazement the SB re-raised to $6, with the original raiser calling l saw a flop for $4 extra into a $19 pot. The flop was near perfect 10s9s5d. The SB bet $3, yes $3 into $19. The maniac called, I knew he had nothing and could only put the SB on AsKs ? so I re-raised to $13. SB called instantly confirming he was drawing and other guy folded, the Turn 6c, and again SB bet $3, so l pushed all in for $48 more. Again he called instantly showing As3s River....... 2s What a way to reward shocking poker, Re-raising only $4 preflop out of position with A3.
So after 3 hands sat out gathering my thoughts I reload the rest. First hand in BB dealt 73 off I folded to raise. Then with Ad5d in SB and the action folded round to me I raised the guy who just rivered the flush on me to $3, Yes a slightly larger raise than usually but I noticed he was calling everything, to which he complied and called the extra $2.50. Flop 5h5c8h, perfect for me just hoped he'd hit some of it. I decided to bet out in an attempt to disguise the strength of my hand with a $4 opening bet. To my delight I was re-raised to $12, instantly again mixing it up, I went all in for $43 and was called. Cards on there backs, he reveals 8c10s. With a meaningless King on the Turn. The river struck again a stomach turning 8d, so I loss with 5's over 8's to 8's over 5's.
Why did I even bother!! _________________ Think Big, because if you pay peanuts your only going to attract monkeys. |

Feel for ya I gave it a break for a bit recently and was bored one night decided to have a stab at some cheap satelitte $0.50 job
Automatic 8 places through , 40 players got down to last 12 and was a bit short stacked so waiting for the hand i could double up with KK for me all in , and some one calls me pair of 2's and guess what happens he flopps a set on the River,
Remember this was my first night back I'm normally quite settled , and don't often get angry (plus it was only $0.50 i lost) but i nearly lost it ,
So i'm back on a break, again _________________ 3rd in Copa America Comp

I've decided its pointless playing any sort af low stakes online poker. So I have decided to retire from it all together. Sick of poor plays/players constantly been reward. _________________ Think Big, because if you pay peanuts your only going to attract monkeys. |

| You didnt need woody to fight your corner, all you had to do was pm the appropiate mod and it would be resolved in the same way. |

| just strolled along the poker thread here so ive decided to respond to the opening post.I myself was put through college by playing cash games in the casino so i would like to think i know something. The problem with 0.25/0.50 cash game sis that you get people who will gamble more with below par hand alot more because the blinds are low. When i play cash games online its normally 2/4 because the game can be alot less manic.Yes the ace 3 spades out of position is a dangerous hand to play but its also a hand which is well disguised. I myself am totally against playing small aces regardless if its suited simply because you do get into alot of trouble with them more often then not, the likes of 9 10 suited are nice hands when you really hit the nuts but hitting 2 pair is also dangerous because of the staright opportunities which appear.I will say that online poker can be a minefield and its essential that you learn your players at an early stage when playing. If you want have a notepad with you or a sheet of paper.Learn the gamblers straight away and wait until you hit the nuts and then milk them, with gamblers on the table they are more aware of their own hand as to why the opponent is calling.I would recommend making alot more plays on the gamblers on the table, even if you get caught then your still in their heads. When someone limps in and then calls a preflop raise i is alot easier to put a guy on a hand.alot of the time its suited connectors their playing |

AJ, unlucky on your comeback, but my thought of this is dont throw in the towel yet, i have always thought of you of being a miles better tourny player than a cash player, so why dont you hammer them $20 turbo stt's and the $10-$50 mtt tables like you used to do, you need to get a feel for the game agin having been out for 3 months, chin up m8 _________________
