just thought i would ask everyone what they think the best and worst poker sites are and why.
ive played most of the major ones and feel they all have their own strengths and weaknesses and just wondered what other people thought.
my personal overall favourite site would be Ladbrokes because of its variety of tournaments and ladder sit and go tournys. Also the banking system is pretty good too, aswell as loads of big prize pool mtts.
the main strength of laddies i think is the player points, while most sites offer similar points, the Ladbrokes points build up much easier and the end of month payout are quite substantial.
ive been playing abit on Bet365 and theres a lot of high prize pool tournys for very small buy ins but the bad beats are so sick |

I have played on a fair few poker sites : William Hill, Poker Stars, PKR, Poker Room, Party Poker and Full Tilt.
However for my my fave is Betfair and i think this is the best out of all the ones i have played i know sometimes ridiculous hands can win but thats how things go but that happens on most sites time to time, but with Betfair there is a good variety of stakes and different kind of mtts and also now you gain points for any paid posistion which means if u do well over a month you can recieve a cash prize.
so for me Betfair is lol |

i used to play on Betfair poker quite abit when i used to bet on the site but only on the cash tables coz i didnt think the mtts offered very good prize pools for the amount of buy in.

I think I have tried nearly every poker site out there. As regards to picking a favourite based solely on the bad beats or action flops etc is a little nieve IMO because they are all the same.
I now base my choices around the availability of STT's, the Guaranteed MTT's offered and now from an experienced poker players view, the last hand/ hand history and table stats options. All these considered Full Tilt Poker gets my vote. Great site, lots of action and plenty of fish.
As for the worst site, all the rest. _________________ "He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life." |

1.Poker Stars
2.Full Tilt
these two are light years ahead of any other poker site
3.Ladbrokes(its home,where i began playing)
4.Mansion(i know the MGR and the players are useless)

Thanks your thoughts everyone - please keep them coming.
We are trying to expand our poker coverage (you may have noticed?!) - so any feedback as to why certain sites are good/not so good would be much appeciated.
Jwoody has been doing some excellant Room Reviews for our new poker section - http://poker.online-betting-guide.co.uk/
We hope to add a fair few more reviews so your thoughts will help us to decide which rooms to cover... and help to decide where to stage future private tournaments.
Thanks
Oh - just add my thoughts....havent played at them all yet but my favs are
Mansion - love the 5 payout sit and gos - very interesting game trying to just finish in the top half of the table to double your money. Some excellant cash added/guaranteed tournies with huge prize founds. Loose play.
Paddy Power - Tournaments seem great value with lots of cash added + extras. Players dont seem too good! Really love the range of sit and gos - especially the short handed super turbo! |

Played on Sky Poker for firstt time today as promised to give the site a try.
Have to say i quite like it.
Easy to navigate around the site,a soft/easy feel at the tables, which also look quite good and easy on the eye.
The only negative is that it is based in some strange foreign currency?
WTF are £'s?
I have learned to live my life by $$$ over the last 3 years so i even struggle at times with the Euro
I think the players there are below average ability as a rule.
Lokking for some value while trying out the site,i played a £2 satellite into tonights £10 Open(their flagship £5.5k gtd mtt) 80 something runners giving 16 seats into tonights game,i managed to secure one of those so will be playing it tonight
Nice site Sky Poker is,perfect for recreational players in particular as the games dont take hours upon hours to finish,id definetly recommend it .

| I play at Centrebet thesedays aswell as Sky and PKR. Centrebet uses the asme programme as Paddy and Betfred and i think Betfair also. Good selection of Omaha games and decent graphics (nothng too fancy which i like) and plenty of decent tournaments and satallites. Sky I dont use that often, just play the freerolls and the Odd Open Tourny but any wins go straight to my centrebet account and PKR Is good fun but nothing to take seriously as there isnt enough diversity at the moment for my liking and basically play the same players ALL the time! |

ive began playing again on Betfair poker, only on cash tables though as the tournament prize pools are pretty low for the buy in compared to other sites.
There are alot of loose players on the cash tables around mid afternoon when the racing is on and people are bored during races so is quite easy to pick off a few fish lol
Ive decided to abandon Ladbrokes poker after withdrawing 3 times last week and within half an hour of withdrawing each time, i was given a big hand and then rivered.
Worst time i had JJ and the flop came Ah - i cant believe my luck
With 4 people in the pot and me in first position i check, it gets bet for 10 and reraised to 30, i just call
The turn is a , i check again, as does the second player, the final player bets 40, i reraise to 100, which is called by the second player and the original better folds
The river was 10h, i was thinking great he's hit his flush, i bet and he goes all in straight away. i call
My heart sinks when he turns over and rivers the royal flush
After two similar incidents for lower hands but still full houses i decided to query them about it and sent them an email, they assured me that there random number generator is consistently reveiwed by a site called ecargo i think they said.
After looking on their site and seeing that Ladbrokes poker is NOT one of their recommended sites i decided that my moneys only going one way on that site so ive left it now. |
