Hiya folks.. would just like your views on how to play the following hand... its a $5 STT, only at level 2, relatively tight, even though one player has been knocked out already..
giveithere sitting in seat 1 with €1810.00
Burrfoot sitting in seat 2 with €1860.00
Haaard sitting in seat 3 with €1930.00
Vimpirken sitting in seat 4 with €1900.00[Dealer]
giveithere posted the small blind - €15.00
Burrfoot posted the big blind - €30.00
Dealing cards to Burrfoot: ,
Haaard called - €30.00
Vimpirken folded
giveithere raised to €80.00
Burrfoot called - €80.00
Haaard folded
Ive noted giveithere as TAG, i dont think hes trying to steal with the small raise of another 50 on top of his blind, i call to see what the flop will bring..
Dealing the flop: , ,
cant really get much better for me IMHO..
giveithere bet - €210.00 (pot now 400)
I know he has a hand, but how good? at least top pair or over pair... I reckon I can put him off the hand if its only top pair, cos Ive seen him fold that before... (top 3 get paid) if he calls i still have 12 outs .. what the odds here? 40 - 45% ish? (odds arent my strong point lol)
Burrfoot went all-in - €1780.00 - a bit of overkill, but wie the size of the pot its prob the only move with a chance of gettin him off his hand, and fairly obvious im on a draw, but Im making a statement to the others at the table.. ie I dont gie a wotsit and will gamble with decent draws, so unless u wanna gamble or have a big hand, dont bet into me.. besides i reckon he will fold a good majority of times and when he does call i will win a respectable amount of times..
giveithere went all-in - €1520.00
giveithere shows: Ah,
** Dealing the turn:
** Dealing the river:
Burrfoot wins €3650.00 from the main pot
Cue giveithere moaning and ranting in chatbox for the rest of the game (as an observer ;D)... secretly thats the best part of the game
Its not a play i would always use, but prob would a majority of the time at these tables.. esp on that type of player...

Dream flop for you Burr as you say.
Like you I am more than happy to commit all my chips once that flop comes.
You have 12 outs against top pair or an overpair. You also have some fold equity when you shove because sometimes he will just have something like AK,AQ, a weak jack or a pair smaller than jacks that he will fold, allowing you to take the pot down uncontested.
As the hand played, when he calls and turns over AJ,you are 47% to win the pot.
As a rough guide(and it's very useful for these type hands).....
On the flop(so with 2 cards to come) every out = 4%
I would have taken a more cautious approach as you're on the bubble and if you lose this hand, you're equity is $0
Sure it's a good spot and I don't dislike the semi bluff, your opponent could be value betting a weak pair or even just a big ace, but with stacks this deep at only level 2 and on the bubble, I'd be tempted to flat call and see what the turn brings, less so if I had rock solid notes on the opponent that told me he was likely to lay down his hand to a big reraise on the flop (e.g. he always continuation bet the flop against one opponent), but if I only had 10-15 hands worth of information then I would'nt consider my read as useful a piece of information when making a decision on that flop.
I'm possibly making my later decisions harder for myself, but I have my reasons for taking the hand slower and trying to keep the pot size small.
Maybe I fold sometimes on the turn if he jams his remaining 1500 chips into a pot of only 610 and sometimes I will get the chance of a free card when my opponent checks (when he's looking to check raise or just to slow the action down because of his weak holding (I understand that the board is very drawy and your opponent should really try and outprice you on the turn to protect his hand (if he thinks you're on a draw) but this is a $5 game and your opponent might make the mistake of checking the turn) and also the possibility that you could be slowplaying a monster (called preflop, called flop)), sometimes (if I have my opponent well covered) I might make the same move as you but on the turn, I also might call if the price was better than 5/2 to see a river card assuming I had'nt yet hit my hand.
On the river, I probably fold to a bet without a straight or flush on my side (I might call a small bet if I hit a 7 on the river, making me one pair, against a really LAG player) and if I do hit, I'm happy to play for stacks. Hopefully this way has plenty of options, especially if you get a little more respect at the table (because of my tight play), plus I can get out of the hand on the turn and possibly the river with enough chips left behind to still be in the running.

Certainly another way to go Woody
I often go your way myself in an MTT,but personally in an STT(where I get through a lot more games per hour etc) i'm happier to get them in and take the variance.
In an MTT,a lot more value on my "tournament life" would put more weight behind your suggested way of playing.
