Did anyone else get caught up in the Sporting Index credit card payment shambles? Is anyone else considering legal action?
Basically mid December I had payments totalling a few thousand for a gaming firm appear on my bank account and I thought my credit card details had been compromised. Didnt have a clue where they came from as didnt recognise the name, but thought a similar thing to a couple of years ago had reoccurred (someone tried to take £1000 from my bank account for a bingo firm). Pretty much ruined Christmas and New Year for me as total card payments totalling a few thousand had been taken from my account. The ultimate nightmare for anyone with online banking.
Yesterday, 3 weeks after the event, I got an email from Sporting Index saying their credit card handlers had screwed up, and the payments had been mistakenly credited to this gaming firm but they had received payments ok now.
Its astonished that a firm of their size can make such an error, but more importantly how it took them 3 weeks to let me know. Closed my account as I really dont trust them with my details any more. I shouldve learned from previous experiences with them when Ive taken part in their promotions and theyve not credited my account with bonuses. Lesson here folks is keep a very close eye on your Sporting Index account if u do want an account with them. |
