| u would only lose on this bet if ron gets to semis. if he goes out in quarters u would win £90. last 16 would win u £190. if hes loses to ding in first round u get £290 back. u have got a potential downside of £510 if he wins tourny, altho as u said u can close bet once he gets thru first round. if u did buy back at 35-38, it would cost u £90 cos u always buy at the higher end. spread odds will often change, its the price u sold or bought at the time that stands. |

Thanks for the quick reply,
but what if he got to the semis, and then lost. I guess I loose money, even though I sold him? |

ok, thanks.
How do you know what the markup is going to be? Is that information shown somewhere? |

| hi folks , im guessing that most people who play the spreads stick to one or two regular markets as studying one or two areas seems to be the way to make a profit long term, id be intrested in which ones people study , who has the most obscure and where do you get your info, mines pretty common with the bookings, mainly spannish, stats.com is awesome for getting the refs names and listing all the cards through the season, which ones do you stick to dammo, promise not to mention sportin index ! |

| i dont really stick to any in particular. if im looking at a market and feel that theres particular value at that point in time i might go with it, weighing up the downside. sportin do lots more specials than anyone else but they are usually markets to avoid. sometimes they can get it really wrong tho (not necessarily on specials) which is when they send out bs marketing emails to customers claiming big bets are going one way on a market they have mispriced hoping to entice mugs to do those bets too so they can balance their books. |

hi spook
I use Sporting Index much less these days but I used to stick to sports I knew about obviously..or in particular teams I knew about.. and I would often guess the spread first then see what was on offer
you would often get 99 prices out of 100 as you would think and thus no value but occasionally a price would look out and thats when I would dabble...
also I would look for value in a sport where you may not think your selection would win but you would punt on the fact that the price would move and then you could trade...
as always, stick to what you know and are comfortable with and only bet what you can happily lose... |

| hi, sorry not been back, thanks for the replies, been away so returned just in time for 2nd half of real madrid vs seville and when i saw that the very unpredictable perez burrel was the ref i logged on and sorry dammo but got to mention sportin, i bought at 61 to a fiver ( it was on 30 )with IG, no probs as usual. then with it on 100 i tried to sell it at 117 to a tenner with sporting as they were a couple of points out, i clicked on confirm with 4 seconds to spare and they never came back to me , all i got was your bet is being processed, nothin showed in the open bets ,there were no more cards so i rang them, Suprise Suprise they said that nothing was showing on there screens of me trying to get on. All they said was they'd get their IT man to look at it , Im happy cos i called both bets right but looks like im only going to be paid for the Buy. |
