Suits me Dammo, the end of the game was so frantic that everyone missed 2 yellows, so my buy at 61 made up at 120 , I wonder if IT man will be on to me now it is in their favour as i sold with them at 117. Very Happy

Hi Guys. I have been spread betting for years now and if anyone is interested I have written the following; 2 x Excel spreadsheets to help you to calculate the spreads. Eg, if you compile odds for a race, say a 3 runner race @ 7/4, 7/4, 2/1, then the spreadsheet will calculate the equivalent spread price either for 25-10-5 markets (Double Numbers, favs etc) or 50-25-10 (Race Indices). This is 100% accurate regardless of how over-round (or under-round) your forecast is. The difficult bit is calculating what chance a particular horse has of being second or third but the spreadsheet does this. The second is for double numbers only and gives a rating for each race based on forecast odds.

I also have approx 7 seasons of data giving the average winning sp per runner at each track (flat and nh). You would be amazed at the difference between tracks. With 100 runners at a meeting, the average SP's make up can vary between 68 and 45 depending on the course. The spread firms do not take into account the huge historical differences.

If anyone is interested then let me know.

I would be interested in the spreadsheets Billy121only. I've sent you an e-mail with a couple of my spreadsheets attached on what sounds a similar line of thought.

Antony, I have a couple of spreadsheets that accurately convert odds into spreads. I am happy to share these with all members but I wondered if there is a way of either linking the spreadsheets (Excel) to my blog or linking to the OLBG site? This saves me having to email them personally to people.

theres usually a guide to how spread betting on each site.

if u are gonna be using anyone at the moment be very wary of Spreadfair. they have a new website which is VERY unreliable. its spazzed my pc up the last few days and cost me £1300 which they are refused to refund.

There's plenty more where that came from Dammo

Sorry to hear about your misfortune there mate, I did hear from a separate source that things were going slightly awry on the new Spreadfair stuff.

Here's an angle that you may not have tried - they won't refund cash but if you keep on at them saying an injustice has occurred and suggest a lowering in your rate of commission as compensation to a fixed rate of 2.5% say then they might agree to this. A friend of mine had a similar dispute settled this way with them and it has proved very beneficial to him.

hi swifty

yeah i heard quite a few people complaining about them. some have even said there are rogue bets appearing on their accounts. not sure if that is the case but ive had a few odds things happening. im checking my account very carefully atm.

ive already got them to lower my commission albeit a piddly decrease. ive had them refund me cash b4 but they seem very stubborn on this one prob cos itll set a precedent.

thanks for advice anyway.

if its actually spread betting u mean, then u need to pick finite selections to get a quote. i wouldnt bother with those sort of quotes with the likes of sporting cos ull get properly ripped off. no value at all.

incidentally for anyone interested, spread fair have continually tried to revert me back to my original commission after promising me lower commission after their website problems cost me big time. they need to be carefully watched.
