My selection for the weekend is Arjun Atwal, playing consistently enough and I'm hopeful that he'll secure a place. I'm doing him e/w with Stricker in America.
I just see that Dougherty shot -10 in the 1st round, ouch that's setting the barrier high and it's only Thursday!! |

I've stuck with Daniel Vancsik once again this week.
Last week's performance in the Johnnie Walker Classic did show the potential he has when finishing T9, he has slowly been rising up the European Tour rankings in recent years, largely un-noticed player, top 5 in 3 of his last 11 events, plays best in South American events, but could possibly transfer his form over to the tropical conditions in Malaysia (believe me on that one, it can totally lash it down for about 2 minutes and then just stop, it's quite refreshing actually ) _________________ Top Football Tipster June 2006

Great Call on Vancsik mate, a nice start for him.
Atwal at -2, steady enough but looks like the scoring is going to be very low this weekend so better get his putter into gear tomorrow!! |

The problem I find with Vancsik is that he can't putt, last week he was very consistent with his GIR ratio top 3 throughout the tournament, and his driving distance is one of the best on the PGA tour without a shadow of a doubt (around the 320yrd marker), but when he gets on the green he's not the best at judging putts, and he isn't the most accurate player off the tee, and that's the only real big let down in his game, but I feel that the more he plays, the better his accuracy is going to get, he's a lot like fellow countryman Angel Cabrera, didn't hit the scene straight away, but got better as he played, in fact they are very similar in terms of their statistics. Prefers the longer courses because he can hit the ball further than most players if he needs to. If he could get his accuracy right up to scratch I honestly think he could be one of the best in the world _________________ Top Football Tipster June 2006

Atwal putting together a great round, looks set to either win or be placed, pity Stricker is nowhere in PODS....................
Oh well another €8k payout slips through my fingers. Haha!!
No more doubles from now on, 1 player each tournament, e/w. |

Atwal wins, I should be delighted but when he's in an e/w double with Stricker who won't be troubling the places, it leaves a rather hollow feeling in the stomach.
Oh well, you pays your money and takes your chances............... |

abcs,
I hadn't done an e/w double for weeks, am now sick, not great stakes (about €20) just for an interest really.
Any more than a single and it should left alone, learnt the hard way there. I'm a full duck man from now on......................... |

abcs,
Just had the worst Sunday evening where Stricker just shot -5 my hopes got up that the e/w was back in play, misses out by a shot or two.
Back Stricker e/w in next few events, a good call. |
