Anybody got any views on this tournament?
Results at the moment on the tour seem to be very haphazard, nobody really laying down a marker week on week yet so would it be safe to look at an outsider again.
I was thinking of a small punt on Alvaro Valsco, finished with 2 good rounds last week so maybe he might give the Spaniards a home winner.
Any views would be welcome.......................... |

alvaro velasco hasn't got much going on the stats - driving or putting don't look great... but finding some form and playing in homeland are worth considering and he might give you some value for your dough
alvaro garcia likewise but he ain't much of a putter I'm afraid..
having had a look... defending champ WESTWOOD looks deservedly top of the pile betting-wise... 10/1... was featuring every week at the start of the year and if still has that form then has to be the one to beat
EDFORS is 20/1 and if he can find a decent touch with the putter then he is worth considering - has had 4 top 10s this yr in 6 events, top of the GIR stats and smacks it a long way... just needs to putt well and he will be up there for sure I think
at longer odds, I like the look of marcus BRIER > hasn't done anythign this season but last wk shot a final round 67 and hopefully this is a sign of better things... had some cracking wins in last couple of seasons and if he clicks then he has the all-round game to be a winner - decent value at 94 on Betfair
others for me would be HEDBLOM > 3 top 10s in 6 events and was 2nd in his last event (malaysian open), looks over-priced at 43 on Betfair
and a possible outsider in DELAMONTAGNE, currently 209 on Betfair but has the ability and can putt and can see him featuring soon
will watch and trade if possible but would go for BRIER as the best value this week although risky... EDFORS is probably the most solid bet for me...
good luck folks |

| Fancy Martin Kaymer this week. Playing well with the exception of last weeks WGC event. Personally think that the 20-odd /1 on offer is great value. |

Only getting into the golf betting recently so nice to have some info to hand.
I think it'll be small wagers this weekend so.
Good luck lads with your picks. |

Edfors has got low but he is a very capable player, doesn't really blow up under pressure neither...a week's rest thrown in. One of my faves so will check his first round progress.
Good call on Hedblom - wish he beat Atwal the other week. Would of been good payday.
I have a longshot in Ricardo Gonzalez for e/w. Argentinian who does ok now & again. |

I doubt this course suits Edfors´game. Lots of out and u gotta keep it in play.
Went for Struver to miss cut (2,5 Bet365) but I´m not sure it was a great bet after all, we´ll see! |

Completely agree. Was playing well last week in the first round of the WGC untill he had an allergic reaction to something and came at in a rash. I would ignore his last three round scores because of this. He wont be 20/1 for these kind of events for much longer.[/quote] |

Difficult to predict this week due to lack of course form to research, the course is said to be for the players that can hit fairways and pick the right spots to place the ball.
Edfors has a chance due to being in form lately but the course doesnt suit him so he will have to play extremely well if hes going to win
Westwood definitely in with a chance and i agree that he he deserves to be the favourite for this week.
My pick for this week would be Clarke due to coming back to some form recently and his game suits this course. He also has the ability to go low and seeing as last year westwood won it on -22 you probably need to shoot low scores to be in with a chance. |

| I played Aloha last year, and it is by no means difficult...A moderate field again this week, and I believe we could be looking at abig pricedwinner come Sunday..It is a fairly short course, just over 6800 yards, and the greens are huge..easy to find, but there will be plenty of 3 puts...given no wind and/or rain, reckon 17-18 under par will win it.Good Luck |
