Hey all, was a bit off the mark with Mark Brown last week (no pun intended) but am raring to go again this week. Thinkin of havin a cheeky e/w punt on Miles Tunnicliff and Fernando Gonzalez Castano
Lookin for a nice return to start a small betting bank, save me dippin into my wages each week for bets.
Who do you all like for this week? |

Well i cant get away from last years winner Scwartzel.
Already in good form this year, tied for 7th in the portugese open, tied for 6th in the malaysian, and 3rd in the Qatar. Available widely at about 16/1, he will have the bulk of my money on. Darren clarke might also be worth a small e/w on the back of his recent performance. |

down to seville this week... nice looking course... apparently the rough is pretty thick so driving accuracy will be important... thus clarke, brown, forsyth, kjeldsen all perk up since they have played well recently
forsyth also has decent GIR stats along with home hope lara
would expect a decent showing from the home contingent so lara should feature and also jiminez who recently shot a cracking last round in the masters to end up in the top 10 after being a shot off the cut at halfway
fave is niclas fasth understandably and he looks a decent shout at 16/1, schwartzel has played well recently so as defending champ is worth watching also at 16/1...prefer clarke as he may gain lot of confidence form last week..and 28/1 looks good for trading
dinwiddie and tunnicliff have both played well last few wks and prices of 90 and 66 respectively look interesting
very open event basically... I want to back FORSYTH but worried that his average putting will let him down - I'm sure he will feature though and if he can putt well has a decent crack of taking this at 33/1 - lost playoff in portugal few wks ago and won 2 wks before that so hoping he may still be in good form
jose manuel LARA is probably the best home hope as often plays well in Spain - is in decent form and missed winning this by a shot 2 yrs ago - stats are good and has rested the last fortnight.. was top 10 in portugal a month ago - his price is already in to 40/1 so I'll back him this week at that as I think it should be half that; only doubt is his average form prior to that
FASTH is a class act and should feature, won here 2 yrs back...but will pass on him and look at CLARKE hoping he can stay hot (due to his driving accuracy) and also look at DINWIDDIE who's price looks too high - definitely worth trading
LORENZO-VERA is interesting too as seems to be in good form..50/1 aint bad for him...
from all these..I'll back LARA, FORSYTH and DINWIDDIE probably...with possible interest in CLARKE and JIMINEZ
good luck all |

hi gecko
just wrote a long post for here and,,,,,logged off
anyway i have always punted on golf but have never posted any opinions here as i usually do match bets or group betting and usually back outright in-running.i always look in on these pages for some helpful information. i fancy 2 match bets in ;this tournament;
j.lara 10/11 [ v montgomerie] Ladbrokes
peter lawrie 4/5 [ v r.finch ] Paddy Power
i don`t think montgomerie will be 100 % for this and think he could be a bit rusty as he only got married a few weeks ago. i actually think he could miss the cut here,,and collect his appearance monies
r. finch had a bad final 2 rounds last week and i think peter lawrie could challenge for a european title this year and seeing his compatriot d.mcgrane win a couple of weeks ago i would imagine that will help his confidence and belief to believe he can go on to better things
so i think peter lawrie as a longshot ,
and if g.f. castano can improve his putting a bit he would be my number 1 bet.
anyone backing c.schwartzel outright should beware that it is 50 years since a player defended their title in this tournament.
be lucky |

| I very very rarely back any favourite in golf, but N Fasth really stands out for me at 17/1 with some firms. A class golfer as proven in recent events including Majors and returns to the tour this week. He is a past winner and can do it again. |

just seen c.rodiles is now -9 and 16/1 in Paddy Power[ each-way1/4 1,2,3 ] i think that could be a good bet.some other great prices for e.w backers. jimenez 14/1 lara 20/1 noren 33/1 derksen 40/1 lawrie 45/1.
there is bound to be a winning e.w bet in there [ if not the winner ]
derksen is making a move too, he is on -5 atm only 6 behind 2nd place and 3 behind 3rd.
where is my monies when i need them |

Hi lads,
Forgot to put my selection for the weekend up earlier this week, went for Jiminez, seemed to be coming into form recently, hope he can reel Garrido in tommorrow.
Good luck to all. |
