off to ireland this wk... hope to get back on form with selections after last wk's disappointing results... bit tougher this week after last wk's eagles & birdies galore - doubt there will be so many shooting 64s all over the place...
the course is a decent length and apparently accuracy off the tee is vital this week... greens are firm and undulating... scores may be high if the wind picks up so I would expect the better players to come thorugh rather than anyone from 50 like last week...
early odds show Harrington clear fav at 8/1, westy at 14 and then 25/1 the rest.. should be some value about in the field then |

darren clarke and david howell are my choices.
clarke is 25s and howell is 50s.great value for both.
winning score will be far les than last weeks redicolous score.both are accurate of the tee and are great iron players and should do well in reaching these tight greens. hope the putting holds up well.
I expect the british contingent to do well here. |

hi cabrera
edfors will be one of my selections as well. the course is a long one which will suit a long hitter like edfors.the course is ranked the 5th longest on the european tour. |

Hi Swashbuckler
you say david howell might of withdrawn. can you be certain of this information if you are right can you let me know of your source as I cannot find anything to say he has withdrawn.
goodluck with your tips and I agree with j edfors being a great hitter but is out of form but definately wouldn't be a shock if he won. |

| Irish Open is very wide open in my view..have played the course, and it is very long indeed, and the wind can be a vital factor....could be a shock winner at high price, but unlikely to be a rookie IMO..will watch weather forecast tomorrow.... |

i am sorry stamina. just seen your post now.
d.howell`s odds were suspended on Ladbrokes website this morning which usually means a player has withdrawn and a short while later he was removed from Paddy Power`s website.
best of luck with your selections |

thanks swashbuckler for clarifying the situation. I was checking the betting zone website and europeantour.com and they was no mention of hm withdrawing.you didnt cause me any problems infact I was going to pick a reserve tip because I like to have two picks in the field at least.
thanks all the same for letting me know what the situation was.
good luck |

think I'll be going for these chaps this week >
robert KARLSSON > bang in form again and shot a 61 last wk which is impressive even on that low-scoring course... 25/1 looks good to me as I think he will be a bit more confident an dconsistent this week and is a classy player
darren CLARKE > could be a letdown or could be an incredibly popular winner... back in form and with his accuracy off the tee looks a decent bet at 22/1
edoardo MOLINARI > backed him last wk as an outsider and the guy did well... still think he's worth a punt as he is long off the tee and accurate which is rare... potentially very good and hope he can find some accuracy with his irons into the pins... has been top 25 last 2 weeks which is impressive for a rank outsider... his stats are good and he really shouldn't be the price he is if he can continue his improvement etc ..299 on Betfair is good to me
paul BROADHURST is a wise old coot and has some decent stats - doubt he will win but may feature and is interesting at 169 on Betfair
christian NILSSON may be worth a look too... finished well last week and is value at 229 on Betfair
top 3 for me would be KARLSSON, CLARKE and one from harry, mcdowell and wilson probably...but will be trading BROADHURST e MOLINARI and NILSSON
good luck all
