off to Moscow this wk and a relatively low-key event - decent course and a nice prize fund nonetheless
Le Meridien course is under 7,200 yards and par 72, tree-lined, water on a few holes and generally requires accuracy with tee-shots... winner last yr was Per-Ulrik Johansson who resurrected his career with an impressive -23 over the 4 rounds
briefly, not an event for dabbling in really as you could pick any one of 50 or 100 to win I guess... very open indeed... however, a few that appeal to me >
robert-jan DERKSEN > odds are skinny to say the least...missed last 3 cuts but was 6th in BMW before that - had a 2nd in Asian Open so may appreciate being in a low-quality field - 2nd here last yr so presumably likes the course... 22/1 though just looks too tight for someone who isn't in prime form
maartin LAFEBER > appeared on leaderboards a bit recently then faded into top 50...has been top 50 in last 6 events with a top 15 at European Open - could be a reasonable shout at 28/1
danny WILLETT > odds are horribly low as he's just 28/1 with one firm, 43 on Betfair... mentioning him as I think he could be a great prospect but still early days for him playing in his first few events... if he clicks he could shoot very low but can't believe his odds... if he was 100/1 then I would be backing him for sure - has v good stats and could start well but one for the future probably
robert DINWIDDIE > missed a couple of cuts but then had a decent 6th in Scottish Open - was 3rd in Asian Open earlier in season - odds again arent great as just 25/1 but a good chance
fredrik ANDERSSON HED > showed well in Scottish Open and was going nicely until final round 73 pushed him down the l/board... might be a bit wild for this course but if he clicks, could go very well at 46
* few others that caught my eye are Ed Molinari 150/1 (tot esport) Chowrasia 150/1 (various), top putter...and Fichardt 200/1 (tot esport)
but doubt I will do much on this event other than v small stakes on probably LAFEBER, DINWIDDIE & HED - may trade the others mentioned at longer odds
good luck all |

after so many near misses, its time to win.
the russian open is a difficult one and would advise small stakes.
checking the past 5 yrs history i have decided mikael lundberg is the value bet at 40s. his course form in the past 3 yrs is 3rd 1st and 11th.
david drysdale has good course form to and also available at 40s.
christian nilsson is my other pick.
the man in form is marcus brier 14/1 fav but those odds are far to short.
others who i think would figure
tom whitehouse. hed anderson. gary murphy
des smyth 66s senior open. |

top stuff stamina...lundberg flying...joint leader currently halfway thru round 2
(i had thought about him and after you mentioned him i dabbled on Betfair, got him at 60 so laid him off a bit now as he's about 7.0 )
dinwiddie and andersson hed both tied 6th currently too... fichardt did well yesterday as he was 5th overnight
lara nilsson derksen drysdale all featuring too so more top OLBG tipping guys!
notice robert rock again appearing early on.. good for trading he is as recently he's got off to flyers then faded away... |

Think I must have angered the golf tipping and poker gods somehow this month. Have Kako Roope who was joint leader after first round, shoots 73 second round doh. Echenique started yesterday with 3 birdies then shoots 7 on the 17th and may miss the cut. Got Romero in seniors who is letting his lead slip. Angela Park was T2 in Evian but is slipping (not as bad as Ochoa tho) and the one Canadian I don't pick is joint leader, just hope Kims class prevails.
And poker well, Rivered, rivered etc etc.
Great tipping with Lundberg and Rock guys, hope they come 2nd and 3rd to Roope but youv'e probably laid some off.
Gecko, are you starting that blog idea mentioned by Swash? How can we contribute and if so, am more than willing to help out if needed. |

hi all
did not post any selections this week(or should that be Lay selections ) as i still had a bad hangover from the open.garcia did a lot of damage to my pockets .have done perm bets in group and match bets this week so i will be glad just to have my bets still going on saturday morning thats the way my luck has been going lately.
just looking at the russian open now and i see D.Willett is -8 for his round after 14 holes with two par 5s still to come. looking good for a Lay at least gecko and stamina ,lundberg also doing very well
good tipping lads |

willet has a serious future in this game makes birdies for fun. |

yep - have started a general golf blog with recap of some tips this yr... will add tips and trading thoughts as we go along (new blog each time but will be under the golf category) - if that doesnt work then I may do a blog ont he forum thread instead
>> please all add comments or tips or whatever... should be good for all of us hopefully - ideally you can all post your own and keep an eye on our profits LSP wise...ie 1pt or 5pt bet... I will probably go with that eg 5pts being strong tip obviously, 1pt being the lowest stake...
let's hope for more winners etc as the return from this golf forum tips-wise has been superb this yr... there's only a few of us but we've had hardly any blank weeks... |

lara showing well in final round - well done JAW... good stuff... currently leading
great to see all the yougsters up there - the likes of willett, moul, barham all paint a positive future picture - I'm a bit fed up of the old guard to be honest - we need some new young guys who want to win and have a crack at it... Ive mentioned willett a few times and i think he will be a star but therea re others too... worth watching these guys |
