|
|
Hi Lads
My 2nd attempt at this as I lost this post when I went to enter it a while ago
So I will start again
I have been thinking about this for a while and after Gecko's very successful Masters Competition I have decided to give this a go and see how it turns out.Hopefully if there is much interest we could ask OLBG if they could kindly donate some prize money and if we don't get much interest we could still go ahead with it for the fun if we get at least 6 or 7 entries.
I was thinking of running it along the lines of the remaining U.S Tour events that lead to the end of season FEDEX CUP play-offs.There is 23 events left in this with 4 events been the end of season Fedex Cup Play-offs leaving 19 Tournaments remaining in the lead up to the Play-Offs (These include the Majors and World Championship Tournaments)
If we get enough interest we could start this Next week (Zurich Classic) and it would end at the TOUR Championship (Sept 24-27).
Each week (Monday Night hopefully) I will put up 4 groups of players with the TOP 20 players in Group A according to the Betting.
EXAMPLE> GROUP A =Top 20 Players in the Betting.
> GROUP B =Next 21-50 players in the Betting.
> GROUP C=Next 51-75 players in the Betting.
> GROUP D=Next 76-100 players in the Betting.
(For Betting purposes we will use Bet365 and take their prices of the Tipster Pages)
You must pick 1 player from each group and only the players you have selected can score for you.
You can only pick a player a MAXIMUM 4 times in the Tournaments leading up to the Fedex Cup Play-Offs and during the Play-Offs you can start from scratch again,,,,,EXAMPLE> If you pick T.Woods in the 1st 4 Tournaments you will not be able to select him again till the Play-Offs as you will have used up your maximum 4 starts.
The Scoring Will Go Like This;
Every Player will get 5 Points for Teeing Off.
Winner Of Tournament =100 Points.
2nd Place in Tournament =50 Points.
3rd Place In Tournament =30 Points.
4th Place In Tournament =20 Points.
5th Place In Tournament =10 Points.
If 2 players tie for 2nd they will each get 50pts but their will be no 3rd place awarded and if say 3 players tie for 2nd they will each get 50pts but there will be no points awarded for 3rd or 4th for obvious reasons.
Lowest 1st Round Score + Ties =20 Points.
Lowest 2nd Round Score + Ties =20 Points.
Lowest 3rd Round Scores + Ties =20 Points.
Lowest 4th Round Scores + Ties =20 Points.
Player Makes the CUT = 5 Points.
These points will be awarded to your player if he makes the cut.
BONUS POINTS;
Tournament Winner>
If your GROUP A selection wins> Bonus 10 Points.
If your GROUP B selection wins> Bonus 25 Points.
If your GROUP C selection wins> Bonus 50 Points.
If your GROUP D selection wins> Bonus 100 Points.
POWER NAP;
You get 1 POWER NAP during this Competition but it MUST be used before we reach the PLAY-OFFS as it can not be used during them so that means you have 19 Tournaments to choose from for when you want to use it.
The POWER NAP will DOUBLE your Points Total of the Tournament that you have chosen to use it in.EXAMPLE.> If you decided to use it next week at the Zurich Classic and your Tournament score was 50 Points, You will get it DOUBLED to 100 Points but you will not have any POWER NAP left for the rest of the competition.
So I think thats it then. Most important rules to remember is the POWER NAP and that you can only select a player a MAXIMUM 4 times prior the FEDEX CUP Play-Offs.
Hopefully we will get a few entries for this and if we get at least 6 or 7 we will go ahead with it as it should be a bit of fun and it will add some extra interest for the remaining U.S Tournaments
If anyone wants to add any input or their opinion please feel free to do so and also if anyone is interested in entering can they please post to say so .
AND if this doesnt make it to the golf forum you will hear my screams no matter where you live in this world
Best Of Luck

Hi Swash,
its a great idea and I would be up for that, but who would over see it,
I think it might be difficult to run, but if you could organise it then sound.
does the winner of the olbg fedex series get 10 million big ones too.
olbg had a season long golf comp on both tours about two years ago, i came second and won a keith elliot book,it done me no good the following year.
I think you will get loads of people interested. |

I would definately be interested but like Stamina, I think it could be tough to run. Would you be keeping records of who picks who throughout so you know when someone has chosen a player four times - think this could get a lot of interest?
I wouldn't say I'm a huge golf fan and only ever watched the majors really over the last few years but I do enjoy it and have been planning on approaching golf more from a betting perspective lately - had previously thought it was more or less a lottery but have changed my mind over the last few months and realise it can be profitable at times with some research. _________________ National Hunt Beginners Guide |

Hi Stamina
LOL I wish , about the 10 million big ones
I am prepared to do a lot of it but we can all have a input into it and help out if thats what someone wants to do
Maybe some of the Rules might need a bit of tweaking,,,,,,,Like 20 players in Group A might be a bit too much but if anyone has any other Ideas throw them in and we can all have a say.I am only trying to get it started as I think it could have potential to be good fun for the remainder of the year and if we have a lot of interest we could get Gecko ( sorry mate you are already nominated) to see if OLBG would kindly donate some prize money but of course, that depends if there is much interest.
One Scoring Rule that I forgot to add in the Post, that was in my original lost post was that all players who start get 5 points also but I was trying to see what way you could do the scoring and i think they were the only viable options for scoring points but as I said,if anyone has any other Ideas please post them. |

Hi Jaydubs and Deco
Yes I would Keep records on that kind of stuff and put them up each week for everyone to see .And If you are interested Deco and we get enough entries either Gecko or your goodself could see about prize money because even a little prize monies will help attract entrants,,,,thats the law of the jungle here .
And I would encourage you to look into the Golf betting especially on this forum as there is some very good tipsters on here and there is always good reading that would put the racing post to shame IMO.
One silly question I need to ask and If someone can reply I would be very thankful,,,,,,,How do you Highlight some of the words of your post as in Darken a word and how do you use different colours on words
As I have said before I am a novice still when it comes to computers and I am learning as I go along
Cheers |
