I am sure Murray will be a top 8 player come the end of the year, he missed two Grand Slams last season, and was unlucky not to reach the top 8 in the end, cheers for the info on Murray skybluesam Win
45 race points if he takes the title at Marseille, considering he only took 2 titles all of last season, that would already put him in a stronger position to reach the top 8, can't see him doing much better than around 6th to 8th though, other players seem to be too strong for him in my view

Hmm i think you might have seen my thread in another forum. There's a basic rule to all of those players when they come up against Federer, they keep the unforced errors down and take the ball early. Even James Blake has realised federer doesnt hit many winners unless they drop the ball short. So he's taking it early now, just needs to work on his nerve.

Already in 2007 won Federer Wimbledon with help of luck 3-2 against very solid Nadal

Luck? Far from it. Heart, determination and workrate won that match, not "Luck"!

no way is federers era over, a true great alway bounces back and to prove it he will win more grand slams but im sure federer will want the roland garros more than anything after nadal keeps clinching on to that.

Scorpio, I watched the match too, every single second of it. Federer was the better player on the day and deserved to win, but I can see we are not going to agree here, so I'll agree to disagree Cheeky

I wont commit to Federer winning it again this year until Ive seen the draw, but if I HAD to pick now, I'd pick Federer again. I'm not convinced of Nadal's fitness this year, so Djokovic will likely be the main challenger. I'd assume they'd be in the same half of the draw though, so will be interesting.

Well Murray's time is coming... it may well be this year. He needs a good draw.. at one of the majors this year and he could get to the final and win it.

He's the best we've ever had, so lets get behind him.

This is worth a read - http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/03/07/sports/arena.php

May not be wise to back Federer until hes over this. Could be worth laying him against top opponents though Confused

could definitely see the effects of fatigue/glandular fever on federer just now, but he's a champion and he came back like a class player.

still, looks very vulnerable...i think ramirez hidalgo would have won the match if he hadnt played that ridiculous shot between his legs! Shocked

I think he just wanted a challenge titan Cheeky , great comeback, but his opponent must now be kicking himself to throw away a 5-1 lead in the final set.
Still, I don't think it will be long before Nadal takes over the top spot. Fingers Crossed
