GIMENO-TARVER TO D STAKHOVSKY @ 1.53 at Pinnacle
Stakhovsky is an attacking player who's game doesn't suit slow clay courts. It will be hard for him to make a quick transision from playing Davis Cup indoors on hardcourt in Ukraine just yesterday. Gimeno-Traver is a typical clay courter with good recent results.

ATP TOUR, VALENCIA
STARACE TO D BOLELLI @ 1.52 at Pinnacle
Starace is so good on clay. Bolelli must surely be tired after long Davis Cup matches. H2H is 2:0 to Starace.

WTA TOUR, ESTORIL
BENESOVA TO D SILVA @ 1.36 at William Hill
Benesova with good recent form is simply a level above local wild card Silva.

Navarro-Pastor to beat Ferrer @ 7.36, long odds here worth a shot imo with Ferrer making a very sudden transition from the fast indoor court of the Germany DC tie to Valencia's red clay, while Navarro has been getting used to the clay for the last 2 months and found some form back with a challenger title last month. He also has a decent record in Valencia, with 2 semi-final appearances here.

Also really keen on Andujar to beat Vliegen but I can't find any odds yet. The up and coming Spaniard has blitzed his way through qualies, dishing out a bagel in each round, so he is playing well and already used to these courts and is a more natural claycourter than the big Belgian whose form has been indifferent in the last 12 months (7-17 in the last year on the ATP tour). I am expecting odds of 2.5+ for Andujar which would be good value, and would be my biggest bet of the day.

EDIT: I took Andujar at odds of 2.52 in the end.

Machado to beat Karlovic @ 4.80
I admit to not knowing a great deal about the local hope in this match or how he plays, but he has ascended 400 places in the rankings this year by winning 5 Futures titles. Obviously this is a huge step up but another thing that made me take this bet is Ivo's terrible performance in Davis Cup last weekend, losing in straight sets to Bolelli in Zagreb, and being broken multiple times by the Italian (who is a poor returner) on a super fast court is not a good sign. I have heard rumours he may be carrying an injury, but whether that is true or not he is definitely not as good this year so far as he was in 2007. The clay will make his serve that easier to return and obviously his baseline game is not that much better than many Futures-level players, so with the Portuguese crowd behind him maybe Machado can get enough balls back to outplay Ivo. GRANOLLERS-PUJOL, Marcel v GULBIS, Ernests

Was interested in taking Gulbis as the underdog but I do not know much about GP. Anyone seem GP play? Or have other info about him that might influence/confirm/change my choice?

Granollers-Pujol is a very good player, in good form this year. I was looking to back him today against Gulbis, this is his first match on clay this year.

Lepchenko is primarly a lower tour player. Craybas is still too solid with decent form.

MATTEK TO D YUAN @ 1.64 at Betfair
Just last week in Amelia Island Mattek had an easy win over Yuan 6:3, 6:3. Yuan is very poor on clay.

Putchkova is completely out-of-form and had no clay court results in her career so far. Ruano Pascual is a typical clay court player, who will force her into making errors. The H2H is 2:0 to Ruano Pascual.
