Shes only 25, and with the French Open soon, even more shocking.

Actually not that surprised. Watched an interview with her a few months back when she said she was really fatigued from the amount of matches she was playing aswell as all the media stuff when she wasn't. Said she wasn't that happy with her life at the moment and had a lot of family related problems aswell which were getting on top of her.
She's said she won't be back but give it 18 months or two years and I think she'll return once her head is right again. _________________ 35 TO FOLLOW

| Usually when they're fatigued from lots of matches, they'd just cut down on the amount of tournaments (like Djokovic has). For her to just up and retire is to me a shock. I didnt know about her not being happy and having family problems though. |

she got divorced last year so missed the aus open IIRC, since then she's pretty much lost motivation
IMO can see federer heading the same way sooner rather than later, dont think he'll drag himself. Even today, he got broken 2 or 3 times in the second set against Niemenen, someone who hasn't even won more than 4 games in a set against him before. _________________ www.priceform.com

Apparently she has made over $19 million.
If you had that kind of money would you really choose to run around a manky tennis court and train day in day out. I wouldnt.
Girl done well and made her money. Good luck to her. |
