Jarkko Nieminen vs Nicolas Kiefer
Nicolas Kiefer (To Win Match) @ 1.67
Nicolas Kiefer was pretty hot in Hamburg, crush many strong opponents. Jarkko Nieminen have some problems with stable results, and specially on Clay. Kiefer leads Head to Head 1-0 (6-3 6-2) match in this year, on hard, Miami 28.03.08
==========
Nicolas Lapentti vs Janko Tipsarevic
Janko Tipsarevic (To Win Match) @ 1.44
Janko Tipsarevic already have win over Nicolas Lapentti Monte Carlo in this year. Other stats on Tipsarevic also looks good, he must have his 60% in this match.
==========
Marcos Baghdatis vs Simone Bolelli
Simone Bolelli (To Win Match) @ 1.67
Simone Bolelli have hot clay season with defeat many strong opponents. Baghdatis not have any clay tourney practice in this year, and have pretty unstable stats for last year. All chances on Bolelli side there.
==========
Robin Soderling vs Juan Monaco
Robin Soderling (To Win Match) @ 2
Robin Soderling defeat more strong opponents in this clay season. Also he win last match vs Juan. He has his chances! |

| Looking at Murray, looks like hes edging towards a 3-2 win, but he must be vulnerable to go next round, certainly be laying him. |

WTA French Open outright
I cant really understand why Jankovic is 2nd favourite behind Serena, sure, Jankovic has a lesser schedule and has been playing well, but making her more of a favourite than Ivanovic and Sharapova? Very odd
Jankovic is hard to back to win smaller tournaments outright, but backing her to win a big one? Something I cant do. Im not entirely convinced she has the bottle at this kind of event. Kuznetsova is another one who I dont think has the bottle to go all the way and win it. Venus has never got past the QFs here, except in 2002 when losing to Serena in the final.
So that leaves us with Serena, Ivanovic and Sharapova. Serena - the favourite - is someone thats impossible to back with any confidence in the outrights, as she always seems to get injured. Assuming shes fit, has her head screwed on, and is in form, then shes a worthy favourite. But 4.7 on the basis that all 3 are in place? I'll pass.
So the other 2, I fancy them both.
Sharapova has no one to fear in her half of the draw. Her toughest matches could be Dementieva and Kuznetsova, but other than that she has a very good draw. She may not be the best clay courter in the world, but shes fast improving on the surface, and has matured a lot since her SF here last year.
It was Ivanovic who stunned Sharapova in the SF here last year, crushing her 6-1 6-2. Nerves got the better of her in the final (after breaking Henin in the first game of the match), but since then shes probably the most improved player in tennis. She has a tough draw here, Serena, Jankovic and Venus are all in her half of the draw, but I think she has nothing to fear.
Ana Ivanovic @ 8.2
Maria Sharapova @ 6.6
There is one outsider I like is Agnes Szavay @ 50. Shes in Sharapova's half of the draw, and could cause a few upsets if on top of her game. Shes a very good clay court player, and while still just 19, she can surprise a few people here. 50 is a good price considering her draw, and I can see her comfortably making the QFs at the very least. Great price to trade off lower too, in my opinion. |

i think sharapova and szavay are fair picks and I think they'll both go far.
but for me, i think ivanovic won't get close to winning this year, she struggled against arvidsson today and was also a joke price - 1.01 at 3-1 up in the first set!!! i've been unimpressed with her for a few weeks now and she just seems too erratic.
so, instead of laying her outright, i think i'll keep tabs on her in these early rounds and look to Lay her at low odds in these first few rounds.
cant find any other value apart from perhaps dinara safina at 25+, who i think deserves to be classed in the top few players. she is cracking value for me, she beat henin and serena a couple of weeks back in rome as well. _________________ www.priceform.com

Hi guys,
3 bets for the French Open:
WTA TOUR, FRENCH OPEN
LLAGOSTERA TO D CHAKVETADZE @ 6 at Betfair
These odds are way too high in my opinion. Chakvetadze is having a poor
season, Llagostera already won a title on clay this year. The H2H is 1:1
with Chakvetadze winning their last match by in Fed Cup last year by 3-6
7-6(5) 6-2. Chakvetadze this year is much poorer than in 2007. It is
almost a 50/50 match for me at the odds of 6.
ATP TOUR, FRENCH OPEN
HEWITT TO D MAHUT @ 1.48 at Pinnacle
Mahut is very poor on clay. Hewitt (even after hip injury) is way too
consistent for him.
LEE TO D BJORKMAN @ 1.39 at Pinnacle
Lee with a good return of serve must be a favorite against veteran
Bjorkman with no good results on clay for the last year.

Ivanovic has been in awful form recently, her forehand has gone to pot completely and she's been lucky to get through games in some of her recent tournaments.
maybe she'll sort it out for this week but I certainly wouldn't back her. |

ff's right right now jakoviv is alot better than ivanovic and looks a much bigger threat.
Just some of my bigger prices, il only bet on ladies in later rounds.
13:30 Dudi Sela vs Victor Hanescu
Victor Hanescu (To Win Match) @ 2
Sela would have edge on other surfaces, but here on clay I think hanescu will prove to good for him on this surface, sela hasn’t looked all that comfortable on it and didn’t play on it much coming up the ranks. Hanescu meanwhile holds a winning record on this surface for his atp career and despite losing to 189 ranked oppenent that player is on the upgrade.
15:00 Marin Cilic vs Robin Haase
Marin Cilic (To Win Match) @ 1.8
I see more Cillic as favourite having won both the match ups between the two, haase has had better season but hes very beatable and I think sets would make him vunerable to someone like cillic.
15:00 Stanislas Wawrinka vs Philipp Kohlschreiber
Stanislas Wawrinka (To Win Match) @ 1.5
If he plays anything like he did in rome wawrinka will thrash kohl, kohl is a good player but he cant play to the level that wawrinka can, and I think the 5set format will suit him too. This their 1st match up wawrinka came in a year later to the tour but has quickly surpassed kohl in prize money and rankings. Ranked no10 I just think wawrinka will be too good for Kohl to keep up.
15:00 Mario Ancic vs Andreas Seppi
Andreas Seppi (To Win Match) @ 1.91
Thought this would be very tight but looked an quiet fancy seppi who has much the stronger clay form of the two of them, and ancic hasn’t always looked at home on it, and with seppi loving it I think he can take this one most exciting 1st round encounters. _________________ Check out my Euro 2008 preview

Cibulkova is my ladies Outright 100's
She could be very dangerous if she's well rested and doesn't have to play back to back days. |

Tuesday
Wawrinka to beat Kohlscreiber @ 1.50
Potentially a big star in the making, Wawrinka has the form and the game to get a result here. Was tempted to take 3-0, but I'm always wary taking set betting in the early rounds, so will take the straight win.
Andreev to beat Starace @ 1.50
Andreev likes the surface, while Starace has never impressed me. Cant see past an Andreev victory.
Monaco to beat Soderling @ 2.00
Monaco is a good clay court player, and on his day is a match for anyone on this surface. He had a good run to the final last week where he lost 2-1 to Davydenko, and that run should've boosted his confidence. Soderling is like a yo-yo at times, but he shouldnt be favourite for this match. Monaco is good value.
Monfils to beat Clement @ 1.5
I like Monfils, and feel he should win this. Clement has been uninspiring for a while now, and Monfils should get the win here.
Wednesday
Acasuso to beat Murray @ 2.20
Murray doesnt like clay, probably because hes not a good clay court player. He would consider making the second week here a success, I think he'll be waiting until next year for that "success". Murray struggled big time on overcoming Eysseric 3-2 on sunday (6-2 1-6 4-6 6-0 6-2) and if it hadnt have been for his opponent tiring, murray would already be out. Acasuso advanced with a comfortable 3-0 win over Hrbaty (6-4 6-2 6-4) and will certainly be the fresher of the 2. Even without Murray's last match I'd be backing Acasuso. _________________ The only dedicated snooker betting blog on OLBG! -> CLick here

11:00 Robin Soderling vs Juan Monaco
Robin Soderling (To Win Match) @ 1.9
Soderling just edges it for me, he may be behind on rankings but hes better player and his clay game is on the up, monacos makes his way by playing almost every week. 1-1 between these two on clay, but I just cant get away from soderling he just has a bit more about him, and Monaco may have peaker early getting to final v davydenko last week.
11:15 Daniel Brands vs Dmitry Tursunov
Dmitry Tursunov (To Win Match) @ 1.44
Brands I just cant see beating tursnov, hes improved his clay game and has enough class to win this match up, cant see to much in brands challenger form to result in upset here bar a win over berrer
12:30 Eric Prodon vs Ivan Ljubicic
Ivan Ljubicic (To Win Match) @ 1.25
Ljubcic really been underestimated by bookies of late and has looked value in a few matchs. He has a winning record on tour this season. He only just lost to Monaco in 3sets last Friday after a good run and that looks a good prep run for this. Ljubcic has come on well since losign to Darcis and overturned that lose the week after. _________________ Check out my Euro 2008 preview

Looks like you're right with Soderling over Monaco there manafana, looking set for a 2-0 lead. Im hoping the rain break helps Monaco though! Seems whenever I post about backing Monaco on here, he loses, I must jinx him _________________ The only dedicated snooker betting blog on OLBG! -> CLick here |
