Just been reading that Nadal is maybe not going to make Wimbledon this year as he has been advised to rest his knee. If this is the case surely the 2.75 on Federer is a good shout at the moment. _________________ Always borrow money from a pessimist ..they don't expect it back |

Might be better to look further than Federer this year.
Roger is due to become a Father in July. I have no idea exactly when it is due, but babies are less reliable than trains at arriving on time.
It could be that if Fed wins the French Open, he may decide to skip Wimbledon altogether to be at home with his Mrs.
Or the baby could arrive just as he is serving for a place in the Final, causing him to pack his bags and head home.
Just something to consider before lumping big on him due to the possible absence of Nadal. |

I not just saying this as i am British but this seems to be adding up for the perfect opportunity for Andy Murray surely. If he stays on the other side of the draw to Federer and carrys on playing strong on grass he must have a chance. Murray has been getting the better of Federer lately and i think this is the best chance a Brit has had of winning Wimbledon for a very, very long time!
Come on Murray! _________________ July 2009 One A Day Football Runner Up

Certainly something to consider veggie...Do remember Federer saying after losing his crown at Wimbledon and the No.1 spot last year that he wasn't too worried about being No.2 but his one and only goal for 2009 was to regain his Wimbledon crown, that may change should he win Roland Garros and become a father of course... _________________ "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

I've taken the 2.86 on Betfair and seen that since the announcement about Nadal not playing Queens the price has already dropped to 2.7's.
Interestig news about Federer and the baby, hopefully it's coming after Wimbledon.
I considered the Murray thing also, if he would be second seed without Nadal then he would avoid Federer all the way.
Saying that there's so many people in the game now capable of beating the top players on their day it's tough to call.
I think Murray's price would certainly also drop if Nadal was ruled out though. |

If Nadal is out or not 100% then its Federer's to lose, much like the French Open is. Federer is streets ahead of anyone else (bar Nadal) on grass, and baby due or not, I dont think it will distract him. The only thing that will stop Federer winning Wimbledon in my opinion, is Nadal.
I dont think Murray would be the alternative to Federer/Nadal, I would look to Djokovic for a 3rd man, we know he can play on the surface and is a better grass player than Murray, in my opinion by a comfortable distance. If hes fit he would be my favourite without the big 2.
As a long shot Soderling may be worth a chance, not because of his escapades at Roland Garros, but because he is also pretty decent on grass, no-one can forget that match with Nadal in 2007. _________________ betking vs man o bong

Just a quick question... Is there anywhere where I can find out who has beat Davydenko at Wimbledon over the past 7 years?
The reason I am asking is Davydenko has lost 5 from 7 in the first round at Wimbledon with only a 2nd round and a 4th round to his name on what clearly is his least favourite surface. He is playing the British youngester Daniel Evans who after being caught in a nightclub the day before a match has really started to improve after his 4 month exile from the LTA. He has done really well of late and is rising up the rankings quite qucikly.. I am wondering which sort of player has beat Davydenko and who he has beat over the years as 7.5 on Evans looks tasty.
TIA
EDIT
Sorry its ok have found a few results enough for me to have a little go on Evans
He has lost to Michale Kratochvil, Lee Childs, Martin Verkerk, Jonas Bjorkman, Alejandro Falla, Marcos Baghdatis and Benjamin Becker. The only players he has beaten are Scott Draper, Chris Guccione, Evgeney Korolev and Gael Monfils. _________________ Always borrow money from a pessimist ..they don't expect it back |

Hi, in regards to betting at wimbledon, whats the maximum matches do you suggest for an accumulator?
I just picked 12 matches from the first round (average price 1/6) and it pays 6/1. is this easy money or is there something i'm missing? _________________ Never pay for tips, Why would you?.

no it's not easy money.
just because their strong favourites doesn't mean they will win and with 12 bet on there is a good chance one won't win.
put it this way, there is roughly a 6/1 chance you will win. |

Laura Robson is looking really strong against Hantcuchova just had an in running bet at 6/5 when she was a set up and held her first service game in the 2nd set to love.
Sure Hantcuchova should be able to turn it around, but pressure looks on the 33rd seed rather than the 15 year old brit. |

Hi guys don't really follow Tennis regularly but have a good enough knowledge of the sport and players. Is it worth backing a few outsiders this week at big prices. I know they are likely to come unstuck against federer/murray but if they make it to the quarters then there price will come tumbling down given me the chance to Lay off for profit.
These are guys I'm cosnidering any opinions welcomed:
M FISH 400/1
S QUERREY 500/1
BECKER 500/1
BERDYCH 200/1 |
