Two Tournaments this week.
AEGON International Eastbourne
http://www.lta.org.uk/Watch/AEGON-British-Tennis-Series/AEGON-International/
live from 17 June on Eurosport
Ordina Open
's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands
http://www.ordinaopen.nl/Default.aspx
These are both joint Men's and Women's Tournaments (and I copied the links from Kamizu's post on the Men's thread).
Very strong field for Eastbourne, with seven of the top ten players competing, with just the Williams sisters and Dinara Safina missing.
Safina has opted for the easier Tournament in the Netherlands.
Vera Zvonareva will be hoping to start her first tournament since her injury in April.
I shall be going to the Eastbourne on the Tuesday. My fingers are crossed that I shall get to see my favourite player
Agnieszka Radwnska this year, although the weather forecast looks a bit dodgy at the moment. |

Kuznetsova looks to have a very straightforward path to the final, her half of the draw is weak, no disrespect intended but if she shows the form she has of late she can at least reach the final, shes better on grass than shes shown and can quickly add another title to her resume here. Not seen the odds yet, likely short, but could be worth taking if the price isnt too bad. _________________ betking vs man o bong

Yeah just seen 5.90 on Betfair and thought that was nuts, 6.00 is obviously better. Much bigger than I was expecting, I was thinking 3s and hoping for 4s, so 6s theres no way I can avoid that price! _________________ betking vs man o bong

Kuznetsova has been the form player of late, and in Larisa Savchenko she has a coach who has a great understanding of grass courts.
What stops me from tipping Kuzzy, is the worry that this will be an anti-climax for her after winning the French Open.
I think that the bottom half is slightly easier on what is a very strong field.
Call me insane, but I am leaning towards Ana Ivanovic EW @ 10/1, or possibly Caroline Wozniacki EW @ 12/1.
Ivanovic has to get past Petrova and Kuznetsova, while Wozniacki has to get past Stosur and Mauresmo or Zvonareva.
They would then play each other in the Semi Final.
Mauresmo is 4/5 to beat Zvonareva in her first match back, which could be the best odds on offer for the 1st Round matches. |

I looked at Ana, but its hard to back her in matches, let alone outright. Sometimes she seems so close to her best, and other times shes the Ana of late-2008
Theres always the BK-touch that worries me about Kuznetsova. Last year I backed Ivanovic to win at Roland Garros, and she went into freefall - will Kuznetsova do the same? Regarldess I cant pass up those odds....
The Mauresmo price is very attractive, but depends what Amelie turns up, she has spanner days as well _________________ betking vs man o bong

Just had a look at the stats for Mauresmo and Zvonareva.
Mauresmo leads the Head to Head 7 -1.
Zvonareva won their last encounter on Hard Court in 2007, which was at a time when Momo looked to be heading for retirement.
I may be wrong, but with Zvonareva coming back from injury, and Mauresmo having such a commanding lead in the Head to Head, I think that odds of 4/5 look pretty good for Amelie.
Though I agree that she is good at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. |

On the plus side the game isnt until Tuesday so plenty of time to make my/our minds up on that one!
I was debating whether to go this week but a total of 4 and a half hours there and back has made me reconsider, espeically with the weather expected to be hit and miss this week,w ouldnt want to travel and then see nothing!
Tomorrow though, Petrova/Ivanovic looks the pick of the matches. 4-3 Ana, she'd won 3 in a row til she lost late last year, not reading too much into that though. Ana has at least been consistent in dispatching th inconsistent players, and Petrova certainly falls into that category, winning back-to-back matches just once in her last 13.
Ana @ 1.62+ seems a decent bet... _________________ betking vs man o bong

IVANOVIC over petrova
slighty edge for ivanovic here cuz it's not her best form
it will not be easy but i see petrova as midium/not pretty hard training before wimbledon
and ivanovic coming here expecting not to lose in 1st round

Could be an interesting week with several players coming off injuries, loss of form and coaching changes not to mention of course the week before a Slam
Ivanovic now down to No.13 in the rankings, reckon that's almost a drop of one position for every month since she won in Paris last year...Oh how the mighty have fallen...See she's decided to dump her coach Craig Kardon, guess she has to blame someone and since he couldn't even sort out her wayward ball toss what kind of coach was he but is going back to Team Adidas the way forward, hopefully this is just temporary but who knows with Ana.
Had Petrova down as a slight favourite coming in to this match so will be backing her at the odds, 2 players who can sparkle when on form but (and not too often I'll say this) there are less questions to answer from Petrova I feel, her form maybe isn't that great but she has shown plenty of fight in her recent losses while Ana has tended to go quickly when she's pressed.
Bartoli could do well this week, has plenty of form on grass but can be inconsistent...No easy part of the draw in this high quality field though.
Azarenka is another who should do well on grass if she can keep her cool, has gone out in the 3rd round at Wimbledon last 2 years but lost to Vaidisova in 2007 when Nicole was a good player and came out on the wrong end of 2 very close Tiebreaks to Petrova last year...Big serve and good ground strokes not to mention a killer dropshot. _________________ "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

Petrova took the first set 6-1 with 3 breaks, Ana having something like 30% on first serves Ana is holding it together so far in the 2nd set (touch wood) but if this goes to a 3rd set I couldnt pick a winner at alll... _________________ betking vs man o bong
