Well done mate, you are obviously getting a reputation as thats 2 pro`s now that wont play you
Hope you go all the way and keep up the good work as a frustrated snooker player in my youth i have nothing but admiration for you but i`m sure the pockets were smaller when i played (only joking!)
Good luck Mike. |

Bad news
Mike lost to Fergal O'Brien 4-1. He said he needed a Snooker in the 1st frame, got it and cleared to win on the Black. Then had a pretty good chance to win the 2nd frame, but this time Fergal made a good clearance, Fergal then went on to make breaks of 74 & 75 and then won a scrappy last frame to win the match.
Mike was pretty dissapointed to lose, but he would of gained some good experience from playing Fergal, thats the sort of matches he needs.
Next week we will all be in action down in Plymouth for the last of the websf tour events, and it should be quite exciting. Mike and Greg Batten are level on points at the top, so its all to play for! more info here www.websf.co.uk |

OLBG sponsored Snooker player Mike King is through to the final of the PIOS (Pontins International Open Series) at Prestatyn.
He will be in action LIVE on http://www.globalsnookercentre.co.uk/main.htm at 9.30am tomorrow for anyone intrested.
There is no commentary or anything like that, but its still good to be able to watch it. Mike will be wearing the Gold Waistcoat. |

Mike lost 6-2 in the final to Paul Davison, but he has still had a great week, he picked up a cheque for £1400 and also earnt 220 ranking points and moved into the top 8 overall (the top 8 turn pro after 8 events)
Just think this time next year we maybe able to back him!
Hi Antony - Its a new thing they are trying with the live streaming, I know a few people who watched it this morning, but I think sometimes it does play up a bit. It should get better I hope. |

Hi skybluesam
Mike lost yesterday 4-1 to Mark Sutton in the second round at Prestatyn in the Pro qualifiers. There is only one competition left now this season, and I think even if he won it, he would finish just outside the top 8.
But he has been playing well on the UK Tour, and still has a chance of qualifying through that route.
His 3 man team recently qualified for the National final which is being held at Sheffield in May.
So although he is dissapointed and feels he didn't really capitalize on his great start, he has gained loads of experience and is still doing well.
I will get him to update his Blog soon, which he loves doing |
