Dissappointing news for me just found out Higgins beat Ding 4-2
Anyone know what O'Sullivan is doing? |

Ding should've won that match. Had good chances in the first 2 frames but didnt take them. Higgins can count himself a very lucky man to have won that.
Ronnie is leading 3-0 at the mo _________________ Red Bull gives you wings.

Well done if you got on Ronnie last week! I didnt like the fact that he had already qualified for the semi's, but he was awesome making 3 centuries and 2 of them were in under 5 minutes.
Its the last of the league matches this Thursday, there are 3 matches and they are playing at Glenrothes.
Neil Robertson V Jimmy White - The bottom 2 in the group, Robertson has struggled with the shot clock, but has now made a century break in his last 2 matches, Jimmy is playing in the UK qualifiers next week so should be tuning up for that. I think this match will be very open with not much safety played. Prediction 4-2 win Robertson
Ding Junhui V Stephen Hendry - Both players have qualified for the semi's, I think both players will be going for the win here to top the league, again I think it will be a very open game. Prediction 3-3 Draw
John Higgins V Steve Davis - The winner of this match qualifys for the semi's. I think after the big effort from Higgins last week he will be looking to finish the job this week, davis has played well in patches this year, but I think Higgins will be much too strong for him in this important match. Prediction Higgins win 5-1 |

Tonight's games are tricky, especially with 2 dead rubber matches.
Jimmy White vs Neil Robertson
Pretty much the worst 2 league contenders facing up here. Jimmy is fast losing the little he had left ( ) whereas ont he whole, Robertson still hasnt adjusted to the shot clock. Although having said that, a fluke-aided century against Ronnie will have given him a boost. I would normally in this situation be strongly on Robertson, but given the circumstances, I can't. Nor can I really advise an out of form Jimmy White. And I can't bring myself to back the draw either.
The only thing I looked at doing is dutching Robertson 4-2 @ 2.87 and 3-3 draw @ 3.25 for combined odds of 1.52
While this isnt exactly a great price, these are the only 2 outcomes I can see happening. Robertson is too short to take outright in my view, and a draw is still a good possibility between 2 out of form players.
----
Stephen Hendry vs Ding Junhui
Hendry knows a win or a draw will give him topspot Ding needs to win to get topspot. Ding was unlucky in places last week in defeat to Higgins, but he also showed a lack of maturity and level-headedness. These are both traits that Hendry has had in bucketloads for years. Hendry has been in solid form this year, as has Ding, but for me, Hendry's experience and mental edge will be enough for him to edge the victory here.
Hendry @ 2.8 is a great price.
----
Steve Davis vs John Higgins
If Higgins wins or draws, he's through to the semis. If Davis wins, then Davis goes through at Higgin's expense. Higgins had some luck in last week's win, and he'll want to capitalise on tonight by confirming his semi final place. I can't justify backing Higgins outright at 1.57 though, the price is far too short. If Davis couldnt qualify, then it would be justifiable, but Davis can qualify. Davis was destroyed 6-0 by an inform Ding 3 weeks ago, but before this he'd put in a string of solid performances.
Its must win for Davis, but must-not-lose for Higgins. My worry is that if Higgins reaches 3 frames, he may take his foot off the pedal knowing he's qualified. Of course, this assumes Higgins gets to 3 frames before Davis. Of course its entirely plausible that Higgins could just cruise to victory, but for me, I'm avoiding this game altogether. I wouldnt be surprised by any result to be honest. _________________ Red Bull gives you wings.

The money I won on Robertson/White I then lost on Ding/Hendry! Ding crushed Hendry 6-0 in an awesome performance, a Ding/O'Sullivan final would be mouthwatering, and it looks highly likely to happen now.
Now the real question is, why can't Ding play like this regularly in normal tournaments? _________________ Red Bull gives you wings.
