I thought I would start a thread seperate to the Challenge where we can discuss the betting and matches over the next couple of weeks, there should be a lot talk about I hope.

Here is the full draw again.

John Higgins v Matthew Stevens
Ryan Day v Michael Judge
Ding Junhui v Marco Fu
Stephen Hendry v Mark Allen
Ronnie O'Sullivan v Liu Chuang
Mark Williams v Mark Davis
Stephen Lee v Joe Swail
Ken Doherty v Liang Wenbo
Shaun Murphy v Dave Harold
Ali Carter v Barry Hawkins
Mark Selby v Mark King
Peter Ebdon v Jamie Cope
Neil Robertson v Nigel Bond
Stephen Maguire v Anthony Hamilton
Steve Davis v Stuart Bingham
Graeme Dott v Joe Perry

I've just been looking at Bet365 and they are doing something different this year, its called Result after 9 frames and Final Result a bit like HT/FT on the Football.

Anyone else think Ronnie is good value at 1/4 to be leading after 9 frames and to win the match? The reason I say that is I don't think Lui Chaung will win 5 frames let alone be leading the Rocket at the interval.

Any thoughts? Confused

What a start - Matthew Stevens 14 Reds/14 Blacks, so unlucky to miss the kiss on the red.

Still with Bet365 on the Handicap market Ronnie -4.5 frames is 8/11 Shocked

Thats gotta be value surely? or am I going mad? Confused

I cant resist backing Ronnie -4.5 frames @ 8/11

They have met once before in the 2007 China Open Ronnie won 5-1 after losing the 1st frame. In recent years Ronnie has won his opening match 10-2 against Ding Junhui (2007) and 10-4 against Dave Harold (2006)

I know its only stats from the Challenge on here, but all 100 Tipsters have predicted Ronnie to win and nobody has predicted Lui Chuang to win more than 5 frames. He would need to win 6 frames for the bet to lose.

I think its a good bet Win

If anyone uses the live scoring from worldsnooker.com, this handy link opens the scorer 4 times in one web window, so you can keep an eye on 4 scores at once Win

What is wrong with BBC? Why do they persist in showing non-live footage instead of live action?

Interactive doesnt work half the time on Virgin (its working now, but thats beside the point).

I dont understand their logic at all.

Carter and Hawkins pulled off at 9-9 until later on tonight. I thought they should of let them carry on really. I'm sure Carter won't mind as much, as he was 9-6 up and has had chances, so will be trying to get his head together. Should be tense later on.

There aren't many certainties in life, but Ali Carter choking is one of them! Laughing

I think Hawkins is in Carter's head, especially after their last match....
