just seen the handicaps and bookies make lions 8 point favourites. i think this looks a really good bet to be honest. last week's commemorative match saw a shadow squad of northern union push kiwis all the way. the big hitters are back for great britain like peacock who will captain, return of saints and leeds players (minus maguire who was fantastic last week) like pryce and line breaker burrow, plus man of steel roby, and faasalalu. sinfield returns with ellis and saints forward graham, and of course senior and newton who was on form last week.
kiwis do have alot of players used to the super league, leuluai and hape, brent webb etc, but the omission of injured paramatta full back inu is a huge bonus for us. he was fantastic last season. afew of the kiwis are inexperienced as the team is looking towards the world cup, and thus unlike the all golds who's 'old boys' like wiki and nigel vagana who used experience and skill last week, this will be a tougher game for the visitors.
the edge the kiwis have is the raw power, and the british generally threaten to decieve given the standard of the super league, but i am willing to keep the faith and as such the -8 for great britain to win at 10/11 is having a wedge of my cash. hopefully this will reimburse me and my mates tickets for the second test at the jjb, and afew scoops on top around glorious wigan aswell _________________ top rugby tipster april 2007 |

Hi topnotch, looking forward to these tests and hopefully a Great Britain victory overall. We tend to do well in the first test,so i agree it looks a good bet, espescially having Leeds and Saints players back.Lets hope they can gel quickly and put pressure on the Kiwis from the start. If we can get an early score to settle the players we will go from strength to strength and win comfortably. We need to keep the Kiwis out early doors and stop them gaining momentum.Hopefully a Great Britain win by 10-20 points. _________________ M.C.F.C. Agreed I think we will win on scratch personally but for the more conservative amongst you the +8 is definitely a bonus. By the way Topnotch, I thought that the seconf test was at the KC stadium not the JJB? |

How frustrating,i was on Britain -8 with you lot and it looked good until my favourite player Shontayne Hape scored for NZ to lose me money _________________ 2nd Overall Copa America Challenge 2007 |

gutted myself after opening the thread with a losing tip, many apologies. (however as always bet in play on gb from scratch at half time made sure i was being well paid out). the truth is we should have won by about 20 at least. think about all the missed opportunities, then the kiwi's second try . on a brighter note, lots of positives to take out of the game to keep a bit of optimism for the next 2 tests. not often you can say the kiwis are there for the taking, roll on next saturday, should see a more dominant performance. _________________ top rugby tipster april 2007 |
