Whats your view on the World Club Challenge on Friday ??
Leeds Rhinos -8 @ 1.80
One thing id like to see with the Club Challenge would be to take it to OZ and see how we go over there and maybe played at a better time in the yr... Its no coincidence that we do very well in this challenge match and have won it the last 4 times due to the Aussies not being match hardened as there season hasnt even started yet where as Leeds have had 4 rounds of Super League... The conditions also suit the English and generally a few stars are missing from the Aussie side... Greg Inglis and Cameron Smith are both missing the match along with the departed Matt King at Warrington whilst Leeds look to be at full strength... Theres little value in backing Leeds at 1.8 -8 but that looks the most realistic bet... |

i must agree with you hear if you look at the full picture they play this in a new season so its a new team. i think the better way for this to be played is after the grand final which are only a weeks differance i think
think the rhinos will also do the job and do it well
this weeks tips are
rhinos -8, bradford scratch, huddersfield scratch. quins scratch. bet in trebles and acumalator
13-2 at hills for 16-20 points win for leeds also looks good, and brent webb for first try |

ye I fancy the Rhinos on the Handicap aswell but got -10 here on OLBG
Leeds have started the season very well and have won their first four matches in the engage Super League, but they have been talking of not having 100% focus on those matches and that this is the game they have looked forward to since that triumph against St Helens in the final. They were very impressive in that match winning 33-6 and they are likely to be unchanged. The English sides have a great record in the World Club Challenge and have won 6 of the last 7 matches it was Melbourne who won the only match in tha run 44-6 against St Helens. But since then the English clubs have had the better of the match and I think this is a very good Leeds team and their is still a lot of experience from the team that won the World Club Challenge back in 2005. The Storm are a little young and are lacking match fitness and I expect Leeds to win quite comfortably. |

I would have been on Leeds to cover the handicap aswell but the weather here in west yorkshire today has been awful with heavy rain and strong winds so i left the handicap alone and took Under 38.5 points instead.
Its well worth checking the weather conditions tomorrow because if we have more bad weather then im guessing most games will have very few points scored.
St Helens v Wakefield
Wakefield have been on poor form so far this season and they do have a few injuries but i think the bookies have gone a little OTT with the handicap here,St Helens have been playing decent rugby but have not been anything special.
I think the saints will win but not by more than 26 points and the bad weather could make this a much closer game than it should be.
Wakefield +26 10/11
Huddersfield v Hull FC
Both these sides have not been playing the best of rugby but once again i think Hulls big injury list will show here, just as things could not get any worse for Hull Shaun Berrigan will miss the game through injury.
Hull have only scored 50 points in their 3 league games so far so hopefully the Giants will make them pay for that poor offensive record
Huddersfield -4 10/11
Castleford v Harlequins
Harlequins have been on sparkling form this season and are 3rd in the league table,Castleford are one of the worst sides i have seen in super league in a long time and it wouldent suprise me if they dont win a game all season, they have by far the worst defence in the record and the worst attack.
Harlequins -4 10/11 _________________ 2nd Overall Copa America Challenge 2007 |

I back the English team in the WCC every single year. It's just about a guaranteed money maker.
Firstly, of course the English team is playing at home, and it's played in far different conditions to what the Australian teams have just come from seeing as it's still summer here.
Most importantly though is how seriously each team takes the game. Despite what they might say leading up to the game, the Australian teams just don't take this game seriously at all. They always treat it just like a practice match. And they're usually missing some of their best players as well. Meanwhile, the English team always treat the game VERY seriously.
Was a bit rich for Leeds to say that it proves they're the best team in the world. Believe me, if they'd played a full strength Melbourne Storm IN Melbourne a couple of weeks after the grand final last year, the result would have been VERY different!!! |
