New Zealand -7.5 v South Africa @ 1.9

The All Blacks looked very dangerous in their two victories against England and playing in the Tri Nations opener under the new rules will make them an even more dangerous proposition. They are the favourites for this years competition and I expect them to put in some massive performances at home. Last year New Zealand beat the Boks 33-6 in Christchurc and the year before that they won 35-17 in Wellington. South Africa have not looked very convincing in their warm up tests against Wales and Italy, they looked very troubled in the second test against Wales and the Kiwis will be able to take advantage of those weaknesses.

France +20.5 v Australia @ 1.8

I backed France on the handicap last week and was very disappointed about the way they played at times, mostly in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. That was the period where they lost the match because after the first 40 minutes they had been competitive and had a decent shout in the match. They will be really up for this one after such a brusing loss and the changes Lievermont has made will have a positive effect in my opinion. Trinh-Duhc moves to 10 and Sebastien Tillous-Borde comes in at scrum half, other changes are Toulouse outside centre Maxime Mermoz and Albi loosehead prop Pierre Correia along with Thibault Lacroix, David Janin, , Matthieu Lievremont and Renaud Boyoud. France will be up for this one and the Wallabies could have an eye on next weeks clash with New Zealand, the French will be far more competitive for 80 minutes in this one.
