Once again 25 superheroes waltzed their way around the ballroom otherwise known as the OLBG Poker Den, the ladies wore frilly dresses and so did Hollywood.
Congrats to BirstallBabe for winning last nights main event, she's only played with us a few times and has already earned 6 points for a 3rd place and 10 points for last nights effort; this puts her at the top of the OLBG Poker 2008 leaderboard, pipping Tunny because she earned more money in the process of gaining 16 points than he did. Whether she can maintain this level of form is to be seen, but one things for sure is she will do it with a skip in her step and a smile on her face. Very well played BB
Tigergambit gave us even more evidence that he has what it takes to be competitive against this type of opposition, he played solid stuff the whole night through and got his reward for doing so, I still have the feeling we are underrating him somewhat, so prepare yourself for more of the same fellow superheroes! Nicely done TG
Nannypud is one hell of a player in my humblest; anyone that can deal with Zagreb constantly flirting with them and playe Grade A poker is decent in my book, zag got knocked out early leaving her to capitalise on her lack of handicap! Coming from a top notch poker family, big thngs are expected from her and Nan has started to deliver, 2008 could well be her year. Job well done Nan
Many thanks to all who played the main event and after party
The OLBG Poker leaderboard has been updated
Mondays tournament is open for registration, support the cause! _________________ Don't worry, we've got Neil Warnock! |

Thank you for your kind words Woody, and many congrats to BirstallBabe for a well deserved victory . Didn't really give me a look in when it came to the heads up.
Unfortunately by then my string of pocket pairs had dried up. I had a look at the hand history this morning and in the first 120 hands I had 12 pocket pairs - 1/10 as opposed to the 1/16 you would expect. Given that when I didn't have a pair I nearly always had 9-3 or 5-2 or 7-4 or the likes I had a very stress free evening - few of those tricky K-10 or A-9 hands.
Well played to nannypud for a solid performance and my apologies to Dicky for the horrible beat which put him out in fourth.
I had hoped to play a lot more with the OLBG crew this year but a busy spell at work and a problem with my laptop have prevented me. I hope to be with you rather more over the coming weeks - getting onto the leaderboard is great but I want to be higher up!! _________________ In order to live, you must be willing to die - Amir Vahedi

Thanks for the compliments guys, I would like to thank you all for making the event a lovely experience, you are a nice frendly bunch and it is a pleasure to play with you all.
Also special thanks to those who explained what all the acronym's are that fly about the tables, I hadn't a clue what they all meant, but do now I will never remeber them all but a list would help if allowed
Thanks to Tigersgambit & Nannypud for a good mean fight to the end.
See ya all Monday

Well done guys, for your
Me and the legend AJ went to the casino last night, we entered a £10 triple chance, what a great night until i was dealt pocket 6's, only one raiser so i flat called, flop came down 6-9-A, i thought happy days, i checked and the raiser put in a 12k raise into a 20k pot, i think for a little and i push all in with my remaining 22k, he called without even thinkin, then i thought oh no he has trip Aces, but to my delight he turned over A-K, the flop came an Ace to make me a full boat and him trips, but i was disgusted when the river came a 9, i was wiped out in a blink of an eye, i was gutted i slowly got up and gave AJ a nod and made my way to the bar, 4 hours later and 8 pints, AJ was all in with A-rag versus pocket 7's the flop came a 7 and turn came a 7 the bloke makes quads kicking AJ out in 3rd and picking up a very nice prize, cant wait for next week.
I think a live game amongst us should be set up that would be fun
Good luck in the monday torny guys, ill try and pop in but im not promising _________________
