Shocked

Not really surprised about this, I reckon it's just a tactic for the BCCI to get the ICC even more on their side. Harbhajan has been banned for 3 matches for allegedly calling Symonds a 'monkey'.

I'm pretty sure Harbhajan did actually say this, because by nature he's a volatile player prone to saying stupid things, and after he allegedly said it, you can lip-read Symonds saying "did you call me a monkey?" and walking away. He was obviously quite upset by it.

Irony is that Darren Lehmann was given a suspended ban for calling Sri Lankans 'monkeys' a few years back. In addition, I think that Symonds career was inadvertently kick-started by that incident, as it meant that he played in the WC match against Pakistan, making 143*, probably the defining moment of his career.

I don't think the series will be called off, if there's no evidence to prove that Harbhajan said anything, then he simply can't be banned.

What does everyone think about this situation? Confused

Unlikely tour will not continue, as Indians earn so much from sponsorships and advertising, so pressure will come from lots of angles. They are just making a point standing up for HS, heaven forfend a non-white person may be guilty of racism. Seems a stupid thing for him to say as he is prob darker than Symond anyway. Singh just winds people up, one of my least favourite cricketers. Never liked the way he plays the game. All this talk about the spirit of the game is rubbish as Singh is one of the worst offenders of all.

Seems stupid to me they are letting Buckner stand in last test as the extra pressure he is under will only make him worse. Obv its a case of ICC standing by THEIR man, when they should have some balls and give him his bus pass. There is time b4 next test so it may be that the Indians insist he is replaced or they wont continue. Reckon aussies would be wise to get him replaced too as these things have a way of evening themselves out.
