Thought I'd start a thread on this and keep all matches to this, I don't think we'll have much interest as most games are on when we're asleep!
So far there have been a few games washed out by rain, but India have managed to beat Australia pretty comfortably and so they are in pole position to reach the finals. They also put up a good score against Sri Lanka before the game was washed out.
India vs SL is on tonight at 11pm so there's no excuse not to catch the first exchanges at least...strongly fancy India to get another win here, all of their players are in good form, esp the youngsters.
Ishant Sharma will be a world-class bowler if he keeps up his performances so far and the fact that they were able to bat Robin Uthappa at no 8 and bowl out Aus for 159 the other day shows that they have a phenomenally well balanced line-up.
Will be backing India at 1.8+ tonight, recent record against SL is excellent and I strongly fancy them to win again. _________________ Corner vulture

Definitely hoping and betting on an Indian win today.
What is quite interesting to see is that the young bowlers are swinging a lot, so if it rains, it should be in India's favor. Batting wise, Sehwag is as inconsistent as ever, Sachin seems to get a start and then lose it. Doubt Yuvraj will have a good outing either. R Sharma is a very good player imo, good temprament, so expecting something from him. Although I have a feeling that Uthappa might actually bat tonight.
As for Sri Lanka, a brisky start from Jayasuriya could prove very useful for them. Sangakarra was in great form when they last visited Australia, and could expect the same. Vass hasn't been bowling well, but Murali is in a decent form..
All in all, an Indian win expected, although it will be closer than what many would expect. |

SL won the encounter...some terrefic batting from them, esp Jayasurya in the beginning. I woke up to find India in an OK position, and decided to have a punt on them. Only then did I notice that the game was reduced to 21 overs, so am currently regretting the bet.
Anyways, I think the rain played into SL hands, and they are the pioneers of attacking in the first few overs. As soon as a target was set, and overs reduced, Jaya went on a rampage, and Dilshan finished the match quite well. The 2nd over from Sreesanth (23 runs) was quite bad, and drove the nail into the coffin.
The series is not wide open. The next game b/w Aus and SL could be interesting. |

Was worried about Sreesanth bowling in a shortened format, but still I think India had enough runs on the board to defend...seems like it was mainly good batting by SL as opposed to a poor performance by India but will have to check out the highlights.
Interesting to see Dilshan opened but he's a great player to watch when he gets going. _________________ Corner vulture

market is unfortunately showing india a bit of respect tonight against australia...only 3.35 as opposed to 4.3 we could have got in the last match
still reckon india are good value, would be backing them at anything over 2.5 and so I'm quite happy to back them here.
game is at adelaide, no imminent weather concerns.
Lee is out for Aus while Sehwag is a small injury concern...if Sehwag plays, India are massive value, as Aussie attack has potential to fall apart without a leader IMO. _________________ Corner vulture

very interesting match, india were walking it when dhoni and yuvraj were in, traded as low as 1.2...very disappointing batting collapse, IMO the match hinged on Dhoni's injury and run out, but if it was cramp then he really needs to sort this problem out, as it's not the first time he's needed a runner. _________________ Corner vulture

india vs sri lanka tonight, very tough to call, india have an excellent recent record against SL, on paper they're very evenly matched.
no bet for me although if i was awake for the innings runs market, i'd probably Lay 250+ and 275+ to start with and look to buy back at a later stage.
will post tomorrow morning if the game is still 'live' _________________ Corner vulture

SL all out for 239
india 138/4 after 30 overs, match is on a knife-edge but you wouldn't believe it if you looked at the market. Market seems to really favour Dhoni and Yuvraj, if one of them gets out then we will see panic.
Highest chase so far this series is 160 but Yuvraj is in great form, I have a few pennies on India for interest but can't see much value on offer. _________________ Corner vulture

i backed Sri Lanka at the worst possible time! when India started slowly I backed Sri Lanka at 1.5!
Yuvraj is making this chase looking very easy and the 1 wicket lost that broke the partnership he had going hasn't seemed to affect them. nothing less than his wicket will make the required difference right now.
current odds of around 7/1 for Sri Lanka at the moment! |

India really were a decent Lay at 1.16, shame i wasn't on the ball as that was screaming to be layed! _________________ Corner vulture
