Season got underway and i am following this competition closely. This year could be closer than ever i believe with squads getting stronger and more competitive.
Although Sussex won the competition last year i can't see them in contention this year. Lancashire just had an impressive win over a good Durham side and are always in contention with some quality players in their sqad but my tip would be Surrey. They have underachieved in the last couple of years but now have a hungry and talented squad with a nice blend of players with experience (butcher, ramprakash, afzaal, saqlain) and some exciting young talent (benning, dernback, jordan, newman) who look like they are up for it this year. I saw their game last night against Sussex and they were awesome racking up 346-3 in 50 overs and winning comfortably by 67 runs. They have got the good start and 7/1 looks decent value plus i fancy them for the Twenty20 at 9s.
What are your tips guys?

As a south coast lad i say get your money on Hampshire to be relegated (or lose) everything they play in this year...... if it's not too late.
Never underestimate the Warne factor - look who was the first to gel his bunch of merceneries in the IPL! If only he could keep his trousers on (or his mobile phone off) Warnie might have made a great Aussie skipper.
And Hampshire now have no spinners of even county standard - Udal left on the basis Warnie would play all season.
BTW - Carberry totally over-rated. Gives his wicket away far far too easily to ever step up from county cricket. _________________ Steve
