Just a quickie seeing it's already started
Eng are odds-on with all the bookies to win this series after going 1-0 up. Now Eng probably still need to win another 2 from 4 (unless two get rained off), and if one gets rained off then it's another 2 wins from 3!
That's got to be the Lay of the cricket season!?!?! Well if/when some liquidity appears on Betfair - currently Betfair is Eng win 2.04 to Back but about 2.30 to Lay. _________________ Steve |

After a bit of a wait I got my Lay matched at 2.10 on Betfair. Happy it traded at that price only to find quite a bit of money on Eng series win was being at matched at anywhere between 1.93 - 1.98 today. Still currently 2.02 to Lay.
Unbelievable. Who with any brain cells would back Eng at those odds when only 1-0 up in a 5 match series against the world No1 ranked ODI team. Eng totally outperformed SA in match 1, something i don't expect to be repeated to that degree, and only won that match by 20 runs. _________________ Steve |

Lay England around 2.0 then Lay S.A below 2.0 if possible.
Big green on Draw or 2-2 real chance of jackpot because 1 match may washout . _________________ http://www.tradeoncricket.com

Broad just nipped out Gibbs. If England can restrict the Saffers to less than 250 on this pitch then I think they will definitely win. 275+ would be a tough chase under lights. _________________ A good value loser is not useful - get that into your head. |

unbelievable stuff.
I'm not enjoying it having backed South Africa several times as their price looked well worth taking but it never had any time to come down for a trade as things went from bad to worse on them.
England now 1/50 to win this which you'd have to be tempted to say is resonable value though it's not exactly going to fill your pockets! |

Thanks to Sporting Index for the Trading Report.
England face South Africa at the Oval on Friday and Lord’s on Sunday, as they try to build on Tuesday’s incredible performance at Trent Bridge. Cricket is the perfect sport for spread betting, as it so ‘number-focused’, and those spread punters who sided with England would have been watching with huge grins on their faces. Matthew Prior, England’s wicketkeeper and opening batsman, had been available to buy in the Sporting Index player performance market at 40 prior to the game (where you are awarded 1 point per run, 10 points per catch, 20 points per wicket and 25 points per stumping), but this was soon moved up, as he took six catches in the South Africa innings. He then went on to score 45 runs, making a final total of 105 – cue cheers of delight from the buyers at 40.
Buyers of England supremacy in Friday’s game will be encouraged to learn that they have now won all of the last four ODI’s they’ve played against the Proteas on home soil, which has included a 7-wicket win at Lord’s and a 6-wicket win at the Oval. The English player performance spreads will be watched with interest, seeing as England have been so accomplished with the bat in this series. Captain Kevin Pietersen is undoubtedly the star man and buyers of his performance will be hoping he can continue his fine record against the country of his birth. He has already top scored in this series with 90 not out at Headingley, whilst he has four of the highest 12 scores in one-day history between the two countries.
Risk Warning - Please ensure you understand the risks with sports spread betting as it involves a higher level of risk and you can lose more than your original stake. Remember to bet responsibly. Sporting Index is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. |

just consider how the spreads were busted in the last game.
5 wickets for Broad who hasn't been taking many wickets recently.
6 catches for Prior
and the amazingly low 83 runs.
given that the spread for SA's runs would have been at at least 250 there would have been some very happy people and some very very unhappy people seeing those wickets fall.
Be careful as an occurance like this can happen any time and you don't want to be on the wrong end of it. |
