Thank god I didnt listen.
However, who would have thought that Bilbo Baggins would win it? I didnt even know that Middle-Earth was in Europe...  |

I couldn't agree more re the voting - don't know why they even bother performing the songs, better just to show us all a map - but that's no excuse
(are you in bed, monitors?) for stupid homophobic comments. If the rest of your posts are likely to be as edifying as your first effort, Mojofilter, might I suggest that you keep them to your neanderthal self?

I do feel the best song won on the night, but soemthing definetly needs to be done about the voting. I know its always been political, and people vote due to their geograpical position to other countries but last night was much worst than usual.
The semi-finals need to be split into two pools with Eastern euro countires in one and Western in the other. This would give other countries such as Holland, Denmark, Switzeland a chance to get to the final.
Correct me if i'm wrong but its my understanding that England, Germany, Spain and France provide the main financial backing for the 'contest'. In the current climate these countries dont stand a chance of winning. I'm sure they might have something to say about the way things are going.

CD - thanks. 4 out of 5 right for me this Eurovision. Lets hope for better next time 
Changing the format of the contest - yes, bound to happen, especially at the semi final stage. They need more OLD Europe songs in the final to maintain interest. (But that just means better value when backing the NEW Europe entries, as they will still have 42 countries voting )
We pay the most to the EBU and for that they allow us to automatically qualify for a contest that we have no chance of winning, but at least we qualify! I can't see them adjusting the format of the final though, certainly not enough for the UK to win again - unless they give us a +200 point handicap start |

France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom being the biggest contributors to the Eurovision TV pot.
That may even up the NEW Europe bias but of course its all in the, as yet unannounced, details. |
