...and the ratings will be up.
It's not so much about trying to win as letting
the other candidates know how bad they are.
Last year and 3 years ago's entries were particularly embarassing. |

| Latvia 16/1 Boylesports Can always Lay it back when the price falls. There is no way this cheesy song will not get load of votes and they decided fairly early so will be build a bit of momentum. There are worse 16/1 shots than this. Will also due to its location get a load of "friendly votes from their neighbours". Ireland do not have enough allies in the voting to win, Lay the turkey. |

SkyBet have an interesting market they are calling Top4 Big Nation which consists of the 4 countries who have an automatic entry.
If we presume that the Uk is not going to do well. The percentage figures are the amounts you need to place to return 100. It will be interesting to see if any other bookmakers price this up as a market with some different percentages.
Spain 5/6 54.55%
Germany 11/4 26.67%
United Kingdom 4/1
France 6/1 14.29% |

Semi finals on 20th and 22nd May 2008 and the grand final on 24th May 2008.
Glad to see a few looking around for value already. Always a good event for me and hopefully those dreaded rule changes don't mess it up
Good luck if your getting involved |

my tip as I have said is to back the Eastern Europeans, the only country that I wouldnt back is Serbia, host nations struggle to win 2 years in a row nowadays.
Really is no point to Eurovision now though it's become so political and it's a little sad that people dont vote for the song. It would be much better if countries like Germany, UK and France would withdraw from the competition as the Eurovision would struggle then without the big countries, finances would go down a lot. _________________ China Open 2008 Snooker Challenge Runner Up |

from http://www.eurovision.tv/page/second-semi-final-2008#event_info_1470
| Quote: |
For the first time in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest, two Semi-Finals will be held to decide which 25 countries will be represented in the Final. The second Semi-Final will take place on Thursday, 22nd of May.
The voting during the showCitizens of each participating country vote by telephone and SMS. Two of the so-called 'Big Four' (France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom) will also vote in this Semi-Final (to be decided by draw), and possibly the Host Country (also to be decided by draw). Each country's 10 favourites are awarded 1 to 8, 10 and 12 points based on the number of votes. The top-9 of the tele-voting qualifies for the Final. The highest ranked entry of the back-up jury that has not qualified for the Final in the tele-voting also qualifies for the Final. The 10 qualified countries will be presented in randomly drawn order at the end of the show. The complete results of the tele-voting will not be announced until after the Final, to keep the tension high. |
