The New series has started over in America and we can see last weeks opener and this weeks show both on Sunday, obviously we have no ideal as to who will win but i have been looking at the history of American Idol to see if their are any trends,
Season 1: Kelly Clarkson (F)
Season 2: Ruben Studdard (M)
Season 3: Fantasia Barrino (F)
Season 4: Carrie Underwood (F)
Season 5: Taylor Hicks (M)
Season 6: Jordin Sparks (F)
So there has been 4 females and just the 2 males so over the past 6 seasons the females have had the upperhand, looking the the final three is each season (last year was last four) 12 females have made it through to the final round and just 7 males so overall in the competition the females have had the upperhand.
Another thing which springs to mind is these country singers, now correct me if i am wrong but i believe these seem to nearly always do well in the competetion, Taylor Hicks, Carrie Underwood & Kellie Pickler have all done well so it may be worth watching out for these during the audition rounds.
The only bet i could advise this early one is for a female to win the show. |

Notebook
Kristy Lee Cook, Pretty much adds up to all i said in the previous post, country girl who is hot and has a very good voice, she has a mixed activity list which includes training horse to cage fighting.
Alaina Whitaker, One of the younger contestents at just 16 and another country singer, she sang Stronger by Faith Hill and done a good job of it, she will need to add abit of personality to her performaces at Hollywood but if she gets it right she could do well in this years competition.
Kady Molloy, She does some very good impressions, she did Britney Spears and sounded very alike and then sang Unchained Melody being herself and she was brilliant, she was the standout performer of both sets of auditions and the judges love her, i feel she will go very far in the competition as long as she can keep it together in Hollywood. |

now they're down to the final 24, will be interesting to see who they put through to the final twelve.
The only ones that stuck out for me were the Irish girl and the blonde girl who played the keyboard.
time to start learning names! |

We should start getting some insight soon on whose worth a wager and whose making up the numbers.
I think Simon Cowell is always looking for an artist whose record sales will increase his bank balance even though as a singer he/she may not be the best. ( see robson and jerome)
Paula Abdul is looking for empathy with a contestant.
Randy is looking for a contestant with street cred.

Im just happy that the three i noted early on are through to the last 24!!!
Kady Molloy didn't get any exposure on the Hollywood round which i was abit saddened about cause in the audition she was excellent! |

Havn't been watching this series but stumbled upon it last night, David Archuleta is the clear winner here, only 16 years old and absolutely nailed his version of John Lennon's "Imagine".
Just looked at the odds and currently available @1.9, complete steal in my opinion as I can't see anyone touching him and can only see the price dropping.
For anyone who missed it the link is below, I was on the laptop with the tele on in the background - this performance had me looking at the tele from start to finish, exceptional maturity from one so young.

| just checked the prices for the first time, after watching a few shows, David Archuleta was the only one who really stuck in my mind...all the same, odds-on at this stage is probably worth a Lay. I think he'll get shorter and shorter so will wait for a lower price, but as a rule of thumb, laying odds-on in reality TV has been doing well for me. |

| I think he may be odds on because the bookmakers think he may get the hispanic vote (half honduran) apart from being one of the best contestants. Same principle as michelle mcmanus, john from big brother etc. but a very short price already |

| Archuleta is not now fav for American Idol after all these weeks. Cook now fav with Betfair, think it was last night that the show went out and obviously something occured. Anyone who laid in the last few weeks should be able to back now. Try and get some value on Archuleta now with diff bookies. |
