The Oscars are around the corner and a worldwide audience of lots will be seeing whose wearing what, whose taking themselves way to seriously and whose still alive even though we thought they were dead.

The bookmakers have a lot of short priced favourites, their cinema odds compilers are taking no risks. The most competitive market is Best Supporting Actress.

Ruby Dee is the value at around 4/1, she may get the sentimental vote as well as great acting.

Cate Blanchett (6/4), Amy Ryan (9/4), Ruby Dee (15/4) Tilda Swinton (16/1),Saoirse Ronan(25/1)

Best Film should be : No Country for old men.
Best Actor : D Day Lewis
Best Actress: Julie Christie
Best Director: Coen brothers

I would love to see Ellen Page page win Leading Actress and she is currently at 10's on Betfair, Julie Christie is the short priced favourite, i thought Ellen Page was superb in Juno and would fully deserve to win it.

If Ellen Page wins it'd be a helluva surprise. If the BAFTA win shows anything it's that the British are inexplicably rooting for Marion Cotillard whilst the Screen Actors Guild have voted for Julie Christie.

Surprises do happen from time-to-time but I'd be very surprised if Ellen Page wins. I wouldn't know where the support base within AMPAS came from for one thing. Confused
