Phil daniels and Favia (last yrs winner) out. Bottom two phil and don(rising damp) arlene and craig voted for phil, len and bruno for don, len has deciding vote.
Feel free to use this info to piss the mrs off during sundays result show.
Chiristine Bleakly 9-1 good bet to go far. Will get a big vote from Northern Ireland and is on tv 5 times a week(GMTV presenters do well because of this),plus she can dance.

First night for the ladies coming up. Who's going to be eliminated? From what I have seen so far, Gillian Taylforth seems to be the least competent dancer, but is partnered by Anton du Beke who has a big fan base, and so I think that no matter how bad the dance, the public will keep them clear of the dance-off.

Then it's up to the other ladies to dance so well as to finish with the top two or three judge scores, as anything less will very well drag them into the dance-off. I have a nasty feeling that either Cherie or Jessie will get eliminated, possibly facing each other in the dance-off. I think Heather will dance well enough with the salsa, and Jodie may be saved by the fact that it's the foxtrot this week.

Jon.

Cherie got top marks so will be safe.
Jessie and Gillian seem most likley to go it all depends on the phone votes. Heather may get a low phone vote but will be saved by the judges. Jodie is a possible bottom 2 but my moneys on jessie/gillian bottom 2 gillian to go.

Ids,
Have you ever seen any specific voting results? I ask this as at times, the poll seems absolutely baffling to what has gone before.

For instance, last year, Kate and Kenny had to be getting 1st and 2nd in the public voting for week after week to stay out of the dance-off. Suddenly after six or seven weeks, their vote base collapses. In Kate's case, it probably didn't have to drop much in the rankings, but Kenny's vote was still strong the following week, again keeping him out of the dance-off. Then the next week, his vote absolutely crashed, from what had to be best of eight or what was left, to about third worst. The only explaination that I can come up with is that the public very suddenly, and very dramatically tired of him. I personally don't see the logic in this. If you have been voting someone in for seven weeks, why suddenly stop, with the majority of the fanbase deciding to do the same on the same week? Was there an anti-Kenny protest on tv that I missed? This explaination, without knowledge of actual votes, does not satisfy me.

Later on in the competition, when there were only four dancers left, Alesha was forced into the dance-off. This meant, having I believe, scored very well that week, that she had to be less popular than both the boys left. This as far as I was concerned meant that she couldn't reach the final, as she had to be the least popular of the three. Even if all the people who had been voting for Letitia voted for someone else with the field down to three, it would be fairly unlikely that they would choose Alesha wholesale. And anyway, just how many votes would be enough? Does anyone have any idea how many votes are placed each week?

Maybe all these vote swings that appear to be extremely violent, and going against the trend of competitions past, were exactly what happened, but it would be nice to see some figures to back it up.

It will be most interesting to see how the voting results work out this year - whether it is far more in line with dancing achievement, than excessive popularity.

I would love to see a breakdown of the phone votes, i'm not sure how big the difference is between top and bottom it could be a few hundred votes especially late on in the series.
The judges vote has a influence on phone votes, some voters don't bother if they think their fav is safe.
Being bottom in the judges vote can save couples because it spurs fans into action. The weather or stuff on the other channels (X-factor) could have a effect. Also most voters are women and who can workout their mood swings

This morning I could hardly believe my eyes - Bet Direct had Cherie Lunghi at 8/1 to receive the highest judges scores this Sat. As usual, it was too good to be true; although they wouldn't wipe off the 8/1, the actual price being offered was 100/30. I still think this is a good bet - training seems to have got off to a good start this week, and everyone seems to think the first week's result was a one-off. I'm not sure, and think that 100/30 represents good value.

cherie has trained as a dancer when she was younger and been in musicals. She's a classy older woman who will also be popular with a lot of the voters.

Class IS permanent - but she can't do the splits no more. Not without making a wish first. Shocked

From my point of view, if you're right, let's hope Cherie isn't required to do the splits in any of her routines! Fingers Crossed

SCD is up against the football so the phone vote will be affected.
I think Jodie will go but there might be a shock with less people voting.

I imagine the schedules have been altered on the assumption that SCD will do better against the footy rather than the X-factor. Those of us that would like to see the footy and SCD, and couldn't care less about the X-factor, lose out.
