Big Brother, due to begin on 4 June 2009 and air on Channel 4 and E4

Official site:
http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/

Been looking at some of the early bets on Oddschecker.com.

One or two look OK. I like Gender of First Evictee Female (8/11), Male (11/8).
Get on female as there is always one who is too loud and over the top (would come unstuck in BB house for first wek as all male would I not!!)

This also looks interesting:
1st night viewers Under 6 4 Million (4/9), Over 6 4 Million (13/8), Over 6 Million (2). Get on under 6.4 million as i think BB is a very tired format these days. But first night you just dont know - anything is possible.

And this looks the best bet if it means what is says (I'am somewhat confused by what the nature of the bet seems - its just too easy):
Big Brother Axed Mid Series Betting Odds
No summer Big Brother series in 2010 9/4 with Paddy Power

This is what Wiki says; "Big Brother 2009 will be the tenth series of the British reality television series Big Brother, due to begin on 4 June 2009[1] and air on Channel 4 and E4 throughout the summer. It has been confirmed since 2006 as part of a £180m contract with Endemol which will take Big Brother up to 2010.[2] The series will be sponsored by Lucozade in the place of Virgin Media, which sponsored the 2008 series."

So there will be a BB in summer 2010 unless someting goes badly wrong this year.

See all the bets possible at:
http://www.oddschecker.com/specials/big-brother

Advise: Dont take this investment too seriously see it as a bit of fun. One or two good bets may occur at some time so hopefully the postees on this site can help us all.

PostPosted: Wed Jun 03, 2009 8:56 pm    Post subject: BB LAUNCH NIGHT RATINGS

Took my own advise and did some homework on Digital Spy

BB LAUNCH NIGHT RATINGS (OFFICIAL FIGURES)

BB1: 3.66 million (NOT LIVE)
BB2: 3.53 million (NOT LIVE)
BB3: 5.97 million
BB4: 7.05 million
BB5: 7.23 million
BB6: 6.04 million
BB7: 7.14 million
BB8: 6.59 million
BB9: 5.79 million [inc. +1]

These figures may also help:
BIG BROTHER 9 – 2008 (OVERNIGHT FIGURES) (Including C4+1)

Week 1
Thursday 5th June: 5.40m (25%). Peaked at 6.1m. (BIG BROTHER 2008 LAUNCH NIGHT).
Friday 6th June: 3.849m (18%)
Saturday 7th June: 2.91m (14%)
Sunday 8th June: 3.58m (16%)
Monday 9th June: 3.32m (19%)
Tuesday 10th June: 3.63m (21%)
Wednesday 11th June: 3.03m (15%)
Thursday 12th June: 3.47m (16%)
Friday 13th June, 9:00pm: 3.71m (17%)
Friday 13th June, 10:35pm: 2.74m (17%) (STEPHANIE EVICTED)
Running Average: 3.56m (17.7%)

1st night viewers on Oddschecker.com
Under 6 4 Million (4/9), Over 6 4 Million (13/8), Over 6 Million (2)

So you cansee its a bit tricky but if BB10 follows the apttern of BB( as I thik it will then the 4/9 under 6.4million looks a safe bet - waht do you think.

Tommorow night BB 10 up against Taggart and Calender Girls ten years on but I still think BB has run its course and will be pressed to get over 6.4 million on Channel 4 (and +1)

If anyone finds good info to help with any BB bet please post it here for all to see. Lets all "bash those bookies" together. Win

Pressed to post button before I could check the spelling on last post (what no spell checker on OLBG?)

More detailed info on BB ratings - graphs and all:

Systemsman is doing his homework this time after the disaster of BGT. Yes

The viewing figure for 6.4 milion will be close due to the soft TV opposition on Thursday night but I still cant see a figure of more than say 5.99/6.3 million with this tired series and little publicity so far and we are 24 hours away. So at the risk of being shot down once again by a few zelots out there I say get on under 6.4 milion viewers on 1st night at 4/9 with Stan James - and yes do collect with that wheelbarrow!!! Very Happy

Well I'll be glued to the box every night for the next 13 weeks or so but will only watch as a fan Embarassed and won't be having any bets on it.

Yeah, shouldn't have said anything Cheeky but I have watched every season bar the 1st one. I was on holidays in Majorca with the wife a few years back and I made sure we went to a pub that was showing the highlight show every night, although she wasn't too impressed Laughing

Jaysus man Shocked No Cheeky

Can I ask what it is that you like about it? Or anyone who watches for that matter? I really cannot get the attraction with this show and how it has lasted so long.

I'm of the same mindset as Billy Connolly when it comes to it - can't understand people sitting in a house, watching people sitting in a house!!! Cheeky

ps. I will confess I watched a bit of the first series to see what it was all about but it just never clicked with me. I know people who are completely hooked on it though and watch all the "extra shows" aswell. No

When I think about it I don't know actually, maybe its the fact when you put a crowd of nutters in a house anything can and usually does happen.

Have to agree with Deco, can't understand the attraction of BB Shocked

Think I'd rather be strung up by my b***s with rusty barbed wire before I'd sit down and watch a whole season of BB...
