Just to stop this being (almost) a Shark only forum Wink I have a question...

I had a look at this site last night but couldn't find anywhere where it said what you needed to run the games. Anyone who has played, can they confirm whether it is e.g. flash in a browser window, or a separate download which requires Windows to run?

Cheers!

I'm a chess player and play quick chess on the Internet Chess Club a lot. You don't play individual games for money there but there is a perceived problem even in 'friendly' games. The problem is computer assistance.

Bring money into it and I would imagine that this problem becomes almost insurmountable. Shark, you say that you like Connect 4, from what I have seen it is almost impossible to beat a good computer at this game.

In chess only the very best grandmasters have a chance against the really strong computers especially in blitz chess.

So I havent visited the site yet and don't want to prejudge - could be good fun anyway if you keep your stakes small.

I like the site so far Smile Played some free games of Reversi, though I have also successfully deposited a small amount to try some real money games. Usual username on there.

It is a Java interface. One thing I found out (which is a bit annoying) is after my game ended it said click "Quit" to close the window - the game plays in a pop up window so enable those for this site too - and it closed all my browser windows Crying or Very sad That's on Firefox/Linux; no idea if it does it on other browsers/operating systems. I don't do that now and close the window myself using the X in the corner Wink

Not many in the Reversi lobby but I guess it's a new site that has to develop a user base. Right, I'm waiting to play a $5 Reversi game... Any takers? Wink

Hi just looking thru this post.

Realy like the look of playing chess online for money. (I used to play board 4 for Liverpool)...(No realy i did!)

I'd like to no the standard of players, as i believe i could realy sweep up. £20 a game, say 1 game an hour, 5 a day, 5 days a week, 52 weeks...thats..... £26k a year.

Gonna get me chess board out!

Yeah MoneyGaming is not bad. I really battle with their implementation of the games under java. my poor old box has issues. The other problem I have is that cannot 'multi-table'... so I can't play a game of chess AND a game of backgammon at the same time Crying or Very sad

I found another site that looks promising, but its not web based and requires a download. It seems they're in beta, so I'm waiting for some people to login and play. So far it looks good.

Just read the forum rules, so I know I can't mention the site's url without permission Crying or Very sad hope you guys find the site by yourselves
