Thought we might as well have a running forum on a couple of issues in the off season - such as value odds teams to make the playoffs or superbowl etc, as well as divisional winners and those who are way too overpriced to win the superbowl
I'll kick it off by focusing on my main team Green Bay ( i like the pats a lot also and will be seeing them at wembley in october)
Aaron Rodgers is a quality qb, definitely one of the better ones. His throwing ability is up there with Cassel, mcnabb and warner to name a few. I mention cassel because i feel they are in the same mould, both began as backup, both showed the public they have amazing ability. Rodgers threw 4000 yards last season but was let down defensively mainly and throwing ints at the wrong time - new orleans comes to mind when it was 24-21.
With the benfit of being higher up the draft this year with a 6-10 record, i feel a linebacker and and safety/corner back are needed to prevent the deeper throws. Al harris is awesome but he needs that second player to help out when teams with 2 good wr's matchup - practically all teams these days.
I see them winning their division as their schedule is easier than most and will place a bet when it becomes available, as long as they strengthen the defence.
Quickly looking at other teams, even though Houston have a strong division i see them starting well, matt schaub is a class act and has andre johnson to throw to. Keep an eye out for them.
Dallas as superbowl favs?? Not a chance, they are the tottenham of the nfl, however, i hear they are lining up moves for terrell suggs and ray lewis, if that happens then maybe they will go places, but they do have the hardest division to get through, so i dont rate them as 9/1 shots at all.
After the Indy colts relatively poor season, and with a new head coach i see them going to at least the afc championships and are a strong Each Way bet for the superbowl. Probably by putting Dallas out of the race for the playoffs
Finally, keep an eye on Kansas city, they are as we speak, useless and their best players want to leave, but todd haley is the new head coach and he got the cards offense ticking pretty well.
They should get 6 wins this years pending a good draft
All in all im very excited about next year and will be putting a lot of effort into making money on it
I'm hoping for feedback throughout the year as their is value to be had before Week 1 begins

I certainly agree with you for Green Bay. Rodgers shows a lot of talent in his debut season especially his throwing outside of the pocket. With a few tweaks especially defensively in the drafts, and through they're clean-out of coaching personell, I can see them going a long way.
Dallas had their best chance last season with an amazing squad but were let down by injuries and a few backstage issues. Im a big T.O. fan so of course none of hit was his fault lol.
Talking of the devil I have Buffalo to possibly surprise a few. Have Marshawn Lynch on the ground, a stable QB and T.O to aim at I feel they could have a dangerous offence.
However there is still a lot of changes and we all know that ANYTHING WILL HAPPEN. Tom Brady first game of last season is a perfect example of this!

I actually think it will go the other way and T.O will cost the Bills big time.
First of all he will get doubled up on. Then if he's thrown to, edwards will get intercepted 'cos i don't rate him highly. If he doesn't throw to t.o then he'll get stick and heap more pressure on him leading to more ints and the bills will have a bad season. They will then rely on lynch too much and he'll lose his effectiveness. I see the bills doing well against teams with bad secondary's but poorly against the teams that cover up well in the backfield.
Also, any blitz's on edwards and the bills O line will struggle at the best of times. Then t.o will be fuming lol.
I'm liking the way the chiefs are turning out, as i mentioned, they brought in a good coach and now they have some players to work with. Looking good for them _________________ Since Celtic can't get into the Premier League, Strachan is giving the players a chance to get Boro there
What do you think of the Falcons? Thats a tough division too, but Ryan {in the first two thirds anyway} was brilliant. Will he have the second season blues? Are they too far down in the draft to get better?
And the Saints?
Gotta be big question marks on Tom Montana err, I mean Brady to be the force he was prior to the injury...I think of Carson Palmer after he had much the same injury a few years back. Although if anyone can come back it's Brady.

Yeh, regarding brady i think he'll be fine. It's a knee injury so it doesn't affect his strengths. If his mobility is an issue i'm sure bellicheck will make sure the O-line is good enough to protect him.
Atlanta won't do that well this year, i don't expect them to make the playoffs tbh. They played to their strengths well but people have sussed it out now. The division is just too strong
The saints have a chance this year, they have got rid of a couple players so need to improve in some areas. They just couldn't defend last year. _________________ Since Celtic can't get into the Premier League, Strachan is giving the players a chance to get Boro there

Finally the Bears have signed a QB of recognition. After a season of Kyle Orton and before him Rex Grossman, Jay Cutler is going to be a breath of fresh air.
Finally a QB the side can be confident in. Next season looks promising once more. _________________ "Statistics are like mini-skirts .. they give you good ideas but hide the most important parts." > One-A-Day Football Challenge for January now open.

Absolutely KK, i was devastated when i heard because now it looks as though green bay are going to find it very hard to win the division now. At least chicago have lost valuable draft picks. Maybe denver will reach the playoffs at last _________________ Since Celtic can't get into the Premier League, Strachan is giving the players a chance to get Boro there

I have us down for a 9-7 season which would be good enough for the playoffs i reckon. With a good draft we may get that up to 10-6 or better. It will rely on having a good h2h in our division though, can't afford to lose any of those home games _________________ Since Celtic can't get into the Premier League, Strachan is giving the players a chance to get Boro there

I won't be predicting any of these matches yet Smoggy as I'm bound to jinx the lot. Suffice to say as a Bears fan I'm fairly happy with the schedule. We only play 7 sides who had winning records last season and 5 of those come at Soldier Field. _________________ "Statistics are like mini-skirts .. they give you good ideas but hide the most important parts." > One-A-Day Football Challenge for January now open.
