Couple of interesting bets in the NBA tonight.

NAP
Sacramento @ LA Clippers

Clippers +3.5
Clippers on moneyline 2.29

Both of these teams can now be safely counted out of the playoff race and neither are in particularly good form. At the beginning of last month it looked like the Kings might be about to set themselves up for a late charge at the playoffs with wins over New Orleans and Utah, but three straight losses against Memphis, Golden State and Houston put paid to that and the trading of Bibby to Atlanta appears to signal the acceptance of their fate as a lottery team once more.

The Kings have been a poor road team all season. Their most recent road trip was a 5 game one, where the only win came by one point against the equally dire Charlotte Bobcats. It's also worth noting that this game is on a back to back for the Kings after a tough defeat against the Lakers last night.

The Clippers to be quite frank, haven't been much better all season. They have had terrible luck with injuries this year after being pretty decent last year. They have lost the last 6 although all were against teams still in the playoff hunt and before that run they recorded a few decent wins including victories over Utah and Toronto.

I think back to back road games are not the best thing for a Kings team that has recently fallen out of the playoff race and that the Clippers will take this chance to return to winning form.

Toronto Raptors @ Miami Heat

Miami are another team that have been out of the playoff race for some time. They have been somewhat revitalised since the arrival of Shaun Marion although it has to be said they are still extremely poor. Trading Shaq was an extremely wise move and it allows them to rebuild and get somewhere back towards the playoffs in 2 to 3 years but make no mistake, results are now absolutely insignificant to them. They would like as high a draft pick as possible.

The Raptors on the other hand are looking like a real dark horse in the East. They are desperate for wins right now as they try to battle Cleveland for the number 4 seed and a vital home court advantage. It looks like they will once again tonight be without their main man Chris Bosh. This is a big blow and it is what allows us to take advantage of such a big price about them. Bosh or no Bosh, I believe that they are overpriced and will be going all out to try and keep pace with the Cavs.

Elsewhere, look to take advantage of the inflated prices about the Rockets as detailed in my post the other day. Back them to easily cover the 10.5 against the Pacers. They have covered that line in their last 6 straight and at least 3 of those were against better teams than than Indiana.
