Going for Detroit tonight who beat cup holders Anaheim two nights ago and now face last seasons last placed team Chicago. Can't see Detroit having any problems against this young team.

Tampa Bay to beat Atlanta, Atlanta played last night and bar the top line they were very poor also questionable goaltending from Lehtonen, who will have a tough task facing Tampa Bays top two lines especially Lecavalier and St Louis who both had success against Atlanta last season.

Never shy to stick my neck out, here are my calls:

DET Redwings @ CHI Blackhawks
£500 Win DET Redwings -1.5 (Puck Line)L

DAL Stars @ NAS Predators
£288 Win NAS Predators +0.0 (Money Line)W

ANA M Ducks @ PIT Penguins
£255 Win ANA M Ducks +0.0 (Money Line)L

CLB Bluejackets @ MIN Wild
£189 Win Under +5.5 (Game Totals)W

BUF Sabres @ NY Islanders
£110 Win NY Islanders +0.0 (Money Line)W

Elsewhere in the league:

NJ Devils are lacking some chemistry and are likely to fall to Florida, as they have never been comfortable in the SE.
Should expect some stout play from DiPietro for his home opener on the Island vs Buffalo.
Ottawa and NY Rangers should figure OVER as both feature weak goaltending and powerful offence.
Canadiens vs Leafs. Two dismal teams, too close to call.
Thrashers vs Lightning: another division matchup, both feature only one scoring line and not much else. Cointoss.
Flyers vs Oilers: don't face each other often, Flyers feeling good after win in Calgary. Odds are too short for the visitors on moneyline.
Blue Jackets vs Wild: unless Gaborik & Demitra dominate, should go UNDER.
Stars vs Predators: S Weber out with severed patella (4-6 wks) but home team should fare well against an aging Dallas squad who played last night.
Canucks vs Flames: home win.
2nd

Crying or Very sad Not great last night, will regain confidence with one bet tonight Smile

Carolina +113
Carolina so far has held down Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin (neither scored on the Hurricanes). Cam Ward and this defense can handle this Washington lineup too. They have beaten the Capitals ten of the last sixteen times including five of eight here in Washington. NHL favorites coming off a big road win (2+ goals) with no rest are just 38-49 over the past five seasons. Washington is just 9-16 as a favorite overall the past three seasons including 5-14 at home.

Dunno i'm liking the look of Washington so far this season, getting a lot of shots on goal and have just got last years 2nd top scorer Semin back, meaning they have a very potent powerplay.

No bet on the Colorado San Jose game tonight, can't think of good enough reasons to back one team over the other at this stage.

Yeah, I know what you mean, the turnover on tips is pretty slow, tying up your bank. Hopefully, they will get better as the season progresses.

here's the link to the NHL scoreboard: http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app

For those of you watching on FTA satellite TV, you ought to know that the CBC airs a compressed version of their Hockey Night In Canada broadcast, it's called "NHL Replay." It normally starts at 2am EST (GMT -6hrs) Sunday morning or whenever the last game ends. Includes all the scoring action and the plays/infractions that result in PP. Can be found at Ch 200-220 on Bell Expressvue or Starchoice satellite.
